About half an hour. Maybe longer if it's a friend/ regular meet.

Its fair to assume if they can't make it then they would drop you a line on here at the least if you met them here within 30 mins.

It's the first social meet with this chap. I am sat in the pub carpark . Pain as I rarely do new meets these days. Hey ho. Stick with going to my local club. I know if someone doesn't show up, there is plenty more choice.

Half hour is too generous unless they have messaged to say they are running late.

It would be 15 minutes and a phone call or I'd be on my way home.

Like you, I don't meet very often and this is one of the reasons why, I can't be arsed.

If they've not been in contact that day I'd wait maybe twenty minutes. If they message to say they're running late I'd probably wait longer than half an hour.

"If they've not been in contact that day I'd wait maybe twenty minutes. If they message to say they're running late I'd probably wait longer than half an hour. "

I'd have messaged my potential meet a few times on the day to confirm things and see if if feel they aren't getting cold feet.

If they haven't been in touch a couple hrs before to confirm then I wouldn't go as I'd assume they're not interested and not turning up.

It was meant to be yesterday. He changed it to today. It was confirmed earlier today . I had to go to work , but checked for any messages to cancel or postpone before I set out from home.

I can't be bothered messaging to ask where he was. Will wait for an apology or excuse..... But he isn't likely to get another chance.

I wouldn't give it that long, you're being way to kind, why not call him after 5 minutes then you can be on your way home.

If he's genuinely stuck in traffic etc etc a text takes 30 seconds to pull over and send to let you know where you stand or even a hands free call.

I say it’s down to communication really. (Calls not text) if they are in constant communication then I could give you 35 mins. Else it’s 20 minutes.

If somebody is more than 15 minutes late with no communication then it is fairly certain they are not going to turn up. Most people have a smart phone and it takes 30 seconds to log on to here and send a message.

Report to admin, block and move on. He's probably been reading all this and thinking .... shit.

If you hadnt heard from him that evening (giving him a massive benefit of doubt) then he never was coming, just getting off and playing you and he'll do it to someone else, so report and block. Pass on his profile to friends to be aware too but don't publicly name.

Well I had what I thought was a no show last night. 50 minutes late he messaged me from outside. First thoughts were tell him to go forth. Very pleased I didnt, he had good reason for being late and not letting me know. And better still we both enjoyed each other very much. There are still some decent people on here!

Some bottle out at the last minute or just get a kick out off wasting people's time and have no intention of meeting.

Have to say I've spoken to you briefly a few times on here, and I've found you nothing but polite and engaging. So if there's fault to be had, it's the clowns who let you down. And your positive response is a credit to you. I think the lesson is, don't let others weaknesses taint your outlook and to those who do waste others time, perhaps you should grow up or grow a pair and stop pissing people around...you know who you are I'm sure.

Aw thank you!

I’m nothing other than polite unless people give me a reason not to be.

I blocked both guys who messed me about, one ended up making a new profile to apologise three times and state he made a huge mistake and would like to make it up to me, no thank you!

I just think having your time wasted comes with sites like this, so I don’t let it bother me, but I totally get why it pisses people off. I just think it was probably not meant to be and it’s another bullet dodged!

Frighteningly pragmatic and a credit to you. But do you think a large part of the issue of no shows lies in a lack of respect for others? Because by pulling the no show stunt, it's bound to be taken as a slight. I'll admit to being late to a meet because my sat nav sold me a kipper, but I kept in touch and made it in the end. So it's not as though courtesy in the face of delay isn't possible, unless you don't give a monkeys?!

I would only wait until I've finished my drink. If there's no contact from them on meet day, I know I've been ghosted and don't even bother going. I send them a polite message saying no contact on meet day, I don't leave my house. I explain this early on so they know it. I don't meet very often as it's a waste of time in most cases. I tend to meet friends of friends now and totally understand why a lot of people are mainly meeting at clubs. Unfortunately there aren't any in my area.
