I recieved my first set of steam straighteners yesterday through the post and just have to share;

They’re fricking awesome!

I had a cheap set then upgraded to more expensive ones with five star reviews and large ceramic plates. They were really good.

Then I went to a different salon and they had a steam pod..... I was amazed just how good they were.

First go last night, I took my hair out of a tight plait. It had been plaited wet, so beautifully curly, as you’d expect.

One fairly swift sweep with the new straighteners and it was like silk!

I’ve woken this morning and my hair is still like silk and I’ve yet to brush it.

I know it’s a bit sad, but I just had to share

I've always been wary of steam and hair, I can't get past the idea that it will make it frizz.

I was warned by my previous hairdresser about steam but my new salon raves about it.

Now here I am raving about them too

The ones I have are l’oreal Steam pod with the cream and serum pack.

My hair is so smooth it took two attempts to put it up for work this morning!

Now here I am raving about them too

I use a pair of 12 year old GHDs. I really do need some new ones but £200 is a bit beyond me at the moment.

My hairdresser explained it this way: I have extensions so the moisture level is maintained at a higher heat level. That relays the surface of the extensions, which are essentially dead hair.

It really does too. I was getting it smooth and straight but not like this and not in seconds. I was using a comb or a brush as I straightened but these have a built in comb.

Yup steam works wonders for hair extensions,makes them brand new. Loads of YouTube videos of steamers being used on wigs as well and making them brand new.

After a day of ripping down walls I washed my hair and straightened it today. It was still straight from the other day without any maintenance. Just brush it and go.

This is true.

I’m a hairstylist and I regularly use steam for the wigs I make and for hair extensions clients have sent in for me to colour or treat.

I also have the SteamPod and it’s a godsend!

I’m going to renovate my old wigs and donate them. Didn’t realise this would fix tired wigs.
