finding a holiday companion

Between Trumpton and Camberwick Green

Hi.

I've got 2 weeks off at the beginning of September and am thinking of going on a bit if a tour in my motorhome, either in the uk or even on the continent.

I would prefer not to go alone and wonder what the best way of finding a possible travel companion would be.

Obviously we would have to meet up beforehand to check that we were likely to be compatability and that there would be some attraction.

There would be no cost involved although any donations towards fuel and food etc would be welcome.

Am I likely to get any interest ?

Any advice would be most welcome.

I don't even like to share a room with friends or family on holiday, I prefer my own space. Two weeks in a camper van is not my idea of fun !

Why not plan a grand tour of swinging clubs ?

Thanks for the comment Sally,

I guess that a motorhome holiday is not for you under any circumstances really.

Fair play, we are all different than God! (Whichever one you choose )

My motorhome is not the little camper van type, it's 28ft long and has a toilet and shower, full size cooker and fridge freezer and even though I don't expect to be using it so early in the year, a central heating system.

It officially can sleep 6 so you are not so on top of each other unless you want to be.

OP you are likely going on hols anyway. You say obviously no costs but then add fuel and food would be good. I can understand food but if you cannot make your mind up on costs now, what is it going to be like in a motorhome no matter how big or small it is.

Are you wanting a travel companion or a fb for two weeks as you state attraction too. Two weeks motorhoming is a bit different to meeting for a night where each can have their fun and walk away.

Are there any websites or social media pages/groups for single people who wish to find others to go on holidays with?

I've never searched for any but surely this day and age there will be.

Op this is a great idea.... You didn’t specify if you were looking for a male or female .....

But you can find someone at any homeless shelter or retirement home... I’m suggesting these places because the occupants are not working and would be more than likely to have 2 weeks off...

Firstly,

What 2 minds? There is no contradiction whatsoever in what I said about costs. As I remember the definition of a donation is that it's voluntary.

I will be going somewhere anyway and I am fully prepared to meet my costs so that is not an issue.

Secondly

If I wanted to meet someone from a homeless shelter or an old folks home for that matter I would hardly be asking about it on a singers site.

I also realise that going off for a couple of weeks is not the same as a single night or even a couple of hours. It's for that reason that I'm asking about it a month in advance leaving time to get to know each other a bit before the trip and to discuss any expectations on both sides.

Thanks for all the positive comments and constructive advice from the people that read my post and maybe even looked at my profile.

Snerts.

Glasgowish

A nice thought but 2wks with someone i hardly new would be really daunting. A few days maybe, 2wks no.

Sorry Mrs P&C, if you don't want him, I certainly don't !

I want a holiday, not 2 weeks with some poor bloke telling me how lucky he was and didn't appreciate what he had!

Well, lots of visitors to my profile so it looks like some were at least tempted. No messages though so I guess it's a tour on my own.

Now, where to go? Scotland or the continent?
