Anyone know of a good hotel in Manchester for a private party? And can you have a private party without the hotel staff knocking on door? Looking for 1 other couple and 2 vvwe men if anyone interested

The Atrium Apartments are good, they are at the end of Canal St (Oxford Rd side) nice and spacious and for some reason seem soundproofed, reception is close but they were cool, you can have as many people as you like so long as they are not sleeping over.

Another place would be The Place near Piccadilly. You usually get two double bedrooms, again apartment style but they have left in a warehouse feel. You can sometimes get a decent deal if you book early. Reception is wide open so walk in is easy.

Avoid the Mitre;looks ok in photos but is bed bug infested.

Provided you are not very noisy the staff will not come knocking on your door.

I’ve hosted parties and attended parties at The Place next to Piccadilly station. Rooms are very spacious, very clean and tidy and you’re in the heart of Manchester so restaurants and bars close by including Canal St.

A few tears ago, I stayed in what was the Refuge Insurance building overlooking Oxford Road railway station. The room I had was a double double (!) and the bathroom was bigger than the whole of one chain room! Can`t remember what it was called but it seems to have changed hands.
