looking for advice on how to unfriend members from our list so we can manage our friends easier

for the life of us we cannot see an unfriend option, when viewing a friends profile we only have the option to send a friends request, block, report etc in the left hand menu

If you look at your friends list there'll be an option to remove them there.

thank you for your advice everyone, still cannot see an unfriend option but have worked out blocking them and then removing the block removes them from our friends list

Click 'My Account' (at top), then 'Friends list' (on left side menu).

Below every profile listed, there's a red X and "remove as friend".

Don't need to view the actual profiles.

Actually, it's now easier if you DO view the profile. There's an unfriend link right next to where it says "you are fiends"!

Click on your friendslist the BIG RED X and next to it says Remove as friends click on that then refresh the page

Yes, there's a link on the profile but it is tiny and not as efficient, when you want to remove several in a batch.
