Teeth

Aberdeen

I had to cancel a meet because of the sudden crippling pain brought on by the slow and painful eruption of my lower set of wisdom teeth. The previous night was fine, they stung a bit, but not enough to stop my from playing. However, this morning they were in agony. Painkillers helped a bit, but not enough that i'd have been comfortable spending tonight playing as well, so in the afternoon I let them know I wouldn't be able to make it tonight 'cause i was in too much pain. They seem to think that its a weak and feeble excuse for cancelling at such short notice... But would you cancel too if your jaw was painful enough that you couldn't even eat lunch? And yes, I am still in pain right now.

If it's still this bad by tomorrow, I'm getting the taken out as soon as possible... Which might fuck up my plans for the club night on the 5th... GAH!!! Fucking teeth!

sounds a reasonable enough reason to cancel to me. The problem maybe if the people you were due to meet have been messed about in the past as that might make them suspicious. Hope you get the pain sorted and that the people give you another chance.

I don't really care what the excuse is if you cancel ahead of time (providing there were no expenses) that demands respect and you should be encouraged.

If the people you were due to meet up with did not accept an excuse, they are obviously not worth bothering with. Their loss not yours.

Hope your teeth aren't too bad for too long at a time.....

mine never hurt a bit - they just itched... but they did take umpteen years to sprout top and bottom...

don't see why it's not a good enough reason to cancel a meet in sufficient time... suppose some don't need much to get mardy over - says a lot sometimes

Having had crippling tooth pain in the past I can honestly say I didn't even feel like being civil to people let alone playing with them!

Is an awful pain and I hope you get some relief soon x
