I guess it depends on how close you want to be and how much you want to spend on a hotel.

Top end you have the Celtic Manor, and that's 5-10 mins in a taxi.

In the town centre there's a Travel Lodge, so you can always have a few drinks first (The Pod across the river is good). Again, 5-10min in a taxi

"I think the club has rooms, with breakfast."

Really? I never knew that. I thought that was just Darlaston.

Stoke area

I have stayed there, it was sort of next door if I remember. But it was about 3 years ago. Get in touch with the club before you book a hotel.

The rooms aren't as pleasant as Darlaston Chams, but then neither is the club.

Newport Chambs is in the docks area of the city and probably not what you'd consider it's best area. You'd be better off staying a little way away and driving or taxiing in.

There are quite nice hotels near the Celtic Manor (jcn 24 of M4) which is about 3 miles. Apart from that there's a Travelodge in the city centre and quite a few guest houses.

The Waterloo is walking distance from chams, looked at the pics and the rooms look great also the restaurant/bar has a fantastic reputation for quality food.
