Profile for us. A fairly ordinary message can get our attention because we look at the profile, if that's good we reply.

Either will do.

Sometimes we've had a message and as you do, we checked out the profile first - disappointingly sparse. Then because they've attached pics we open the message and it's exactly what we're looking for.

Other times you can see the message is three words long but again we've checked the profile and it's rich with info and pics.

So as long as one or the other shows compatibility (and pics).

I would say both.

Although a very good first message with lovely photos attached may tempt me to reply even if the profile was crap.

I read the profile looking for signs of incompatibility so profile is the start then messages.

Both are important although message doesn't need to be a novel and more than a full stop or a hi.

I read the profile to see if they interest me ....bad spelling and grammar are off putting. .. if there are cock pics on display that is off putting too ... if they interest me I may answer the message

A message will get us to look at the profile but only if we like what we see will we respond.

I'm a shallow man....it's all about the photos!

I joke, of course. A profile that reveals something of the person or couple's character will whet my appetite. A good message does the same, and while an uninformative profile may then be a disappointment, if they've caught my attention with the mail, I'll cut them some slack.

I don't tend to receive messages (I'm a bloke!) but I'm attracted to intelligent or witty comments on the forums or a well taken picture in the galleries.

I may then check out a profile. What it says and how it's said are important (personality shining through) and if the pictures look great ... I can then fantasise!!

depends who is looking - me looking needs a profile to get my attention - people looking for me need to send a good message etc - work s both ways

Much the same as above , message and we look at the profile if there’s no interest for us then usually a polite no thanks . If there is interest then we exchange a few more messages.
