"It is a slight concern of mine. Not that they might be shocked at how fat I am, to how fat I look, but how I will be wasting precious time talking to them and going to meet them, if they don't like my body." I feel a bit like that too. I suppose its the risk everyone takes.

"When meeting new people it is always a slight concern that they won't look like their photo but we have found in general that people look better in real life. " I've often found that people look better in real life too. However not always!

"I'm very honest in my profile that I'm not slim, my photos are all me and recent. They are sometimes filtered but not photo shopped. I do however breathe in and try to get my best angle. I assume this is what most do. I've just been chatting to someone who seemed surprised when I told him my dress size. I've never been all that confident and have met so rarely. Its always a fear people won't like me in person. Now I'm wondering if I'm the person people meet and say aren't like their photos! Is this something that worries other people? " No. It's insecurity talking. We all try to show our best side but without Photoshop and filters there's only so much you can do with a camera unless you're an expert. Obviously I've never met you but I'm willing to bet you're only different to your photos in a positive way.

" I have been on and off for a few years pottering about the forums each time and seen you make comments like this before and it makes me sad because your pictures are really good! So tasteful and sexy! And i read some of your writing which is great ... you dont have to tell people your dress size OP there is clearly much more to you as a person than what it says we all put our "best self" online ... we all have insecurities about our bodies and we all just have to make the best of what we have For some its angles and filters, others its make up and hair extensions, for me its lingerie to hide the bits im not keen on behind I am definitely bigger than my pictures would have you believe but i am not sure how that happens because i dont touch them up in any way ... maybe we just see the worst in ourselves in the mirror but in reality we actually look not too shabby Time to cut the labels out of your clothes OP and stop letting them define how you see yourself

A camera lens cannot see what the eye sees so you shouldn't worry if someone makes a wrong assumption on the basis of a photo.

"I worry about this a lot! I'm honest about my dress size in our profile but I do take pictures that flatter my body and hide the bits I don't like (saggy mum tum!) and always worry when we actually meet people that they'll think I'm much fatter in real life than in the pictures. Not that anyone has ever said anything or not played with us, but it's still nagging in the back of my mind all the time. However, despite all of that, I'm not about to take a picture of myself at a horrible angel and my tummy rolls out etc, that wouldn't be pretty and make me feel like shit. Sassy " I've posted some pics with my tummy rolls etc. in both my public and private pics and it's actually been quite liberating. As its just out there, this is me, this is what you get if you are messaging me. No more worrying if I am like my pics in real life. The pics still get fabbed, I still get messages and have met some really decent guys. I feel sure some look at my pics and cringe and that's ok. Just means we wouldnt be compatible x
