Hi erm... well I'm just wondering as much as I'm enjoying it here am I wrong to think that via private msg is the art of conversation dead now in this day an age?? Majority of msgs I receive are.. are you free now? Wanna hear me wank?? When is your period... like seriously have an imagination an make me smile.. maybe a laugh too ... sorry if this offends but hey ho

It's admittedly rare to receive a message that isn't as you describe.

Even as a bloke, I get "want a blow", "Can I unload on you" and my personal favourite, "My arse for you".

No hellos, no chit chat, no pre amble.

Of course, I accepted all of their kind offers...beggers can't be choosers

Conversationalists are quite rare but do exist. You just have to sit through a lot of crappy one-liners to find the occasional person who actually enjoys writing

The art of conversation died a long time ago. We live in a world where people text each other in the same room, instead of talking to them and when people don't talk the imagination dies to. So getting one liners or badly spent remark like "u into" isn't good we all get them, but just think someone says " horny and kinky want to fuck" they are probably shy and vanilla because they don't have an imagination to be anything else.

Are you aware that you can set PMs to be OFF or From Friends Only, so that you can control who PMs you? A lot of the females have it set this way, so that if there's someone who they want to chat with, out of the room, THEY can initiate the PM.

mine are permanently off to all if they want to to chat they can do it in the room., however they message my inbox if they cant pm.

Glad Im not the only one who thinks a blunt message like "Can I come round now and have a fuck?" is a major turn off. Just because we are on this site doesnt mean the wife is constantly on stand by waiting to get a quick shag from a caveman who cant be bothered with even minimal decent manners.

I enjoy a chit chat. I sometimes wonder if i talk too much vanilla stuff at times. Nature of things is I have clicked with people that are miles away. Add to that there are a couple of people that are closer to me that I have chatted to I am not what they are looking for but are nice enough to chat to me anyway.

Think you can always tell when someone is more interested in the ‘act’ than the person. Short messages, always on track to get what they want. It might be the purpose of the site but much more attractive to chat round about each other and get to know the person.

Of course many people just want instant gratification. It’s the modern world. Everything. Now.

I know guys get a bad reputation for messaging like this, but equally I’m amazed at the amount of women who are not interested in chatting either. I’m a bit of chatterbox with a sense of humour and an imagination, but I’m just amazed at how many women just either ignore my messages or just send back one liners! Am I showing my age at saying we are in the age of instant gratification?
