Anal sti help

So I need some help, I was stupid and extremely d*unk. Anyway I received unprotected anal last night and gave oral too.

I'm scared and I don't know what to do with myself.

Basically worried about what I have, how do I find out, is it a swab? Incubation period?

I woke up with a bit of a sore on my gum, it could have been the alcohol though, I drank a lot.

The only way to know, is to get tested, or you may pass something onto your next playmate.

I guess I will have to wait a week for the incubation? Would it be an anal swab or penis swab?

Torfaen/Gwent

It can take up to two weeks for anything to show up. And longer for HIV. Ring your local clinic and ask.

Just go and get a sti test, not difficult. You also wouldn't have any outward signs in the space of a day

go onto the website for the sexual health clinic in your area as they give a lot of advice on there.

2 weeks sweet but I think hiv is 3 months possibly?

Try ringing your local clinic or check online they have an online checker thing on the umbrella website now

Fastest HIV testing is available at 4 weeks with results in under 20 mins but needs retesting after 3 months - others 2 weeks

Last time I got tested I was told a month incubation so lots of conflicting numbers.

Not generally swabs unless you show symptoms. Blood and irons test. Takes 5 mins. Worrying won't help though so just hibernate for a few weeks, book an appointment and wait.

Yes. People really do get STIs when swinging. Seeing as this forum is called "Swinging Support and Advice"...well...it does exactly what it says on the tin...

hiding from cock pics.

My suggestion would be, to not overthink it, or get too anxious just do the sensible thing.

Don't play with anybody else until after you are tested after the incubation period. Contact your local GUM clinic, they will do all your tests for free, and in the possible event you would need treatment they will provide that too.

It's not possible to have any symptoms within a day, so do not worry that the sore on your lip is anything to do with it.

The Terrence Higgins Trust in Bedford are fabulous.

They do the tests for free at bi night at the Vanilla Alternative and provide a wonderful service.

I believe they offer a free walk in centre in Bedford,

if that is not too far for you.

I would like to respond to the comments above.

Yes, I've been to a clinic before, quite regular, but this is my first bi-gay experience if you will. I didn't know if the testing procedure was different, which was a worry, I'm going tomorrow just out to help my mind, and will go again afterwards to make sure.

I would like to say thank you to the supportive people and the people who have messaged me. I was d*unk and made a stupid decision which I hope wont cause me too much problem's

And to finish off again, I'm a really bad worrier, I'm stupid, I know.

I would strongly advise you to go first thing tomorrow morning for PREP just in case your partner was HIV+ thats the only way not to get infected. You got 48 hours.

If you’re worried about sti’s. it’s too soon to get symptoms. Most are at least week or two. If you’re worried about hiv, you can go to gum clinic or A&e within 72 hours and ask for prep. It may help reduce the risk of contracting hiv. Best advice you will get at gum clinics.

I've really worked myself about this, especially with the gum sore I have developed. On reflection, the thing that worries me the most was the actual meet in question, in terms of how quick upon initial message I was round, and the actual environment that I encountered once there (drugs, messy house etc).

I'm awaiting a call back from a doctor now and will proceed with their recommendation. I mean I could be getting worked up over nothing, but it's my personality, I'm a worrier.

I would like to say thank you to everybody

You can only be scared of that which is unknown so, to combat this, educate yourself! Get to the clinic, be as open and honest with them as you can. They will make you fill out a questionnaire so just tell them that you swing and are involved in high risk sex. By the way, "high risk" does NOT mean that you WILL catch something. Listen to the info from the health worker, ask questions. I guarantee that when you come out you will feel a lot better. Also, if you make regular appointments (say every three months) you'll be doing better than a lot of swingers. Especially those that don't have the maturity to talk about sensitive subjects like this. Try not to worry too much in any case. And...

Happy swinging!

We aren't talking about him having contracted an sti.... As far as he knows he hasn't. I'm sure that once he's gone through all the tests, he will take the appropriate action.

I'm sorry for being a cynic and sincerely hope you get the results you want.

The wait is a nightmare, but that text is so liberating. I got my test results on my last birthday 3 months ago, best present ever, even though I'd not played for 10 months. Still good to get checked, as my partner had played.

Good luck O.P X

So to update everyone, I seem to have developed symptoms for sure. I'm struggling to get booked in to a clinic, I've rang 3 and they are all fully booked and can only book 48hrs in advanced. I'm going to take the day off work on Monday or Tuesday and go to the walk in. I've spent the day on the edge of throwing up, I'm physically sick with myself. I wish I could turn back time

Seriously dude ... the symptoms you are experiencing are almost certainly stress induced !

No way would you be getting symptoms so soon after the act .

The chances of you getting something are still slim , so you need to chill and relax a bit .

As a previous poster said , we have all made mistakes in the past , and no doubt will again .

My anus has a weird tingle sensation about it and what I would call discharge.

I also got a weird spot/skin bit on the end of my penis.

There's no definite cut-off point with hiv testing, simply the longer you leave it the more reliable it will be.

http://i-base.info/guides/testing/what-is-the-window-period

I agree, you've probably worried yourself into some symptoms and perhaps picked up something more minor too. Good luck anyway.

I've been shocked at people who claim 'safe sex' on their profile and then in the event they try to slip it in unprotected and have to be stopped. Honestly it puts me right off a second meet.

I don't know what any of us can say to set your mind at rest if a phone call from a doctor didn't work.

You either need to find a way to get through until you can get to a walk in clinic or just go to one tomorrow however far you have to travel.

None of us can diagnose you, tell you the cause of your symptoms, the likelihood of you contracting a sti or it showing up so soon.

I'd never heard of PREP before so googled it. From what THT say it's not a pill you can happily just pop after the event.

"In clinical trials PrEP has been used in two different ways:

- taken regularly (one tablet per day)

- only taken when needed (two tablets two to 24 hours before sex, one tablet 24 hours after sex and a further tablet 48 hours after sex)."

OP - I've been where you are just a couple of months ago. Met someone new for sex and there was an incident with the condom... and well, I have OCD and severe anxiety about my health, so I know what you're going through.

You would not be showing symptoms from something picked up on Tuesday night. It would take at least a week or two for you to start showing signs. So try to breathe and relax. You can't undo what has happened, and most of us have made mistakes. All you can do is get yourself to a clinic as soon as possible, get tested (and re-tested for HIV at 3 months), and try not to worry too much.

Get tested straight away, be sure to tell the nurse everything they do not judge, they will advise best. No sex for 3 months then repeat HIV test and any others if you display signs or symptoms.

Get clued up on signs and symptoms but of course some STIs have none.

Learn from this.

All the best.

PEP is a course of anti-HIV medication. You must start the treatment as soon as possible after you’ve been exposed to HIV, ideally within a few hours. The medicines must be taken every day for four weeks.

PEP is unlikely to work if it’s started after 72 hours (three days) and it won’t usually be prescribed after this time.

PEP makes infection with HIV less likely. However, it’s not a cure for HIV and it doesn’t work in all cases. Some strains of HIV aren't affected by the medicines.

In the past I haven't been perfectly honest with them when I've been but now I'm just going to say everything. "

Please be honest, you won't shock them.. they've heard and seen it all! By holding information back you may miss out on a test or you might get wrong information.
