Ok, I want going to do this but...

Yes, it's a profile advice. Just had an unsolicited message saying I should take down photos 1 and 3 and I might get more luck. I found that mightily rude, being unasked for advice.

However, what do others think? Are they right?

2 is a couple of years old, 1 was taken this morning, 3 yesterday. Maybe I've changed more than I thought in that time

True, the shorter hair pics look different (and a bit more appealing than 1s blown away hair and 3s none too cheery look). However, if thats more representative of your current appearance, maybe keep them. But I think you look more attractive with the glasses and tidily cut hair. All subjective of course

Put the pics that make you happy.

Citygames is right though your recent pics look nothing like that other chap.

I won't argue about the hair, I do need a tidy up on the head

I quite liked the windswept look myself, horses for courses. I do look a little glum on the third I guess, I find it hard to smile in selfies!

I think I'll get rid of #3, I've decided it makes my face look fat!!

You look at your best in the pic you use as your profile pic

The glasses and the maintained hair suit you

Show whatever reflects you best though - showing the person they are likely to meet is best practice imho

If you like your pics then keep them .

If you value other people’s opinions , especially potential meets , then do as you’ve done and look objectively from someone else’s perspective .

Personally I think the first pic is pretty unflattering btw .

O o O oo

Your pics look a different person / different aged person, I would be wondering how old the younger one was

I’m not keen on 1 and 4 - angle is all wrong on 4, would be more flattering done at a different angle. 2 is the best photo.

I'm getting all paranoid now

Certainly #2 is younger but only by a couple of years. I'll try to get a more flattering up to date one. #2 might be better because it's not a selfie (and my hair is neat!)

Very rude to message someone with comments on their pics like that.

It's your profile do what the neck you want!!!

Don't get paranoid! Your avatar looks nice. You look friendly and approachable in it.

Don't change things based on a hateful message but because you'd like your profile to sell you well and accurately.

It's feasible to have warts and all pics and revelation but people will most likely respond in a different way than if we take care to select photos and information that supports them having a good grasp of whether they may be compatible, in part based on attraction.

Some may air brush their pics and try to sell themselves as the best thing since sliced bread. It's more helpful to have reality but not everything skewed too negatively.

It's great to have loads of photos taken and to use a tiny minority of them that reflect an authentic and appealing you. Whilst we don't always know what others like, you could try experimenting, to see if some selections work better than others. Sometimes less is more, retaining some for those that may want them.

I think it's more critical for single men here to put emphasis upon getting their profile to work for them, as it can be tough going. But I'd also do things because I want to, rather than because someone else is potentially just hitting out at another.

OP did ask the forum for their feedback which on here is not usually 100% positive.

They’re talking about a message received that’s then prompted the thread.

Very true. My opinion is it's no ones business how someone runs their profile

We would say it's a cheek just messaging you out of the blue criticising your profile. Some strange folk on here!

We like your avatar photo by the way, you look friendly.

It happened to me when my profile was public, I had some real nasty messages about my avatar pic. However I feel safer and happier my profile is hidden but I have still had nasty messages from saddo’s who clearly have too much time on their hands rant now over lol.
