Time wasters

Been on here for a few years now, but only started to take more interest in it now re meets etc.

I’ve arranged about 4 or 5 then they don’t turn up, call off last min, or block me from messaging them.

Is it just me, or is the norm on here?

It's the norm honestly. It's just the rules of how stuff works, as really everyone is a stranger on here and thus don't own you anything, so can be flakey or whatever without any issue.

Just imagine you've gone on a fishing trip and you have to take your enormous amount of patience with you. Then double it.

Me either - are you taking the time to get to know them and establish they're genuine first OP? It's not unknown for people to play others along when all is not actually what it seems - so I tend to take my time getting to know someone and have a reasonable level of confidence they are actually who they say they are before thinking about meeting

The only person who has turned out to be a timewaster was someone I had messaged a lot before meeting and who I’d spoken to on the phone as well.

Shame really, because the person I spoke to had such a sexy Scottish accent too

I do think there are a lot more fakes and time waster around, I've been here almost 3 years and had my share of meets and it really is getting worse even as a woman on here, just had to report one now who's let me down, and he is a real genuine person who checks out on facepest etc, verified by what seems like people he just knows rather than met through fab, and yet pesters me to meet then wastes my time on the day of the meet! I like to think I can spot a fake but time wasters I think is more difficult and this site isn't what it was just a short while back. And this coming from a woman.

I think clubs is the way to go but no good if you have social anxiety!!

Anyway op I hope you get a break soon!!

Clubs for us. We chat and find people on here, but arrange to meet at a club. We think it puts fakes and timewasters off. If we get duped we are at a club and can normally find some other fun, so it's much less of a letdown.

I'm afraid op, you will also have to look at your own profile...fair enough you have left it over a year to start meeting people...but in the eyes of most, they'd term you either a timewaster or fantasist.

80% of the men are timewasters. If you want a big meet you need 5 times the number invited. That is standard. If you are after 121 meets you will fail 4 in 5 times. That is Fab!!

We'd concur, why do people do it?

And no, we don't find time wasting is the norm. Depends on your definition of time wasting though. We've never had a no show where where they haven't been in touch with a good reason ahead of time and that's only happened once.

We’ve personally never had any trouble meeting real people. Never had a show. Looking at your profile OP, with all due respect, I think you are more likely to attract men posing as women or couples. As you are not verified, I would advised to start again and design your profile so that it more appealing to women. You do know what tends to turn women on don’t you?

That's one of the reasons we will only meet at clubs, then if they don't turn up we can still have fun with others!

We once had to let a lady down and it was a genuine reason (baby sitter blobbed on us) we were gutted, but more so for the lady we were meeting. We paid back her train fares to make it fair as she had already bought her tickets.
