.

Just got our results back from the sexual health clinic, pleased to say all clear but they did recommend that due to our "lifestyle" we get the hepatitis B vaccine but unfortunately there are no stocks nation wide. Obviously plan on getting it when they have it. Anyone ever suffer any side effects, just wondering.

I've had the jab done for the same reason, told the clinic I swing. It was 3-4 jabs I think spread out through the year and no side effects here.

Dfs and Galloway/Ayrshire.

I had the Hep B vaccinations a good few years ago (due to the job I did at the time). I had minor side effects, bit like mild flu, that got a little worse as the course progressed, but nothing at all serious.

We had jabs for the same reason, just general swinging common sense.

We had them at 12 week intervals I think, when we went for testing. No side effects at all. They test your immunity to it as you go along too.

You might be able to get it done in a private travel health clinic.

Find a country that it’s reccomended as a jab and say you’re visiting there.

I got my first jab no question last month at the Norwich sexual health clinic when I advised I'd started seeing a guy with hep b. If you really can't get the vaccine, use condoms. Turns out my blood test showed I'm super immune so no need to continue. No side effects bar sore arm for first jab.

OP, it's a belt and braces thing for sure. If you play safe and try to be sensible with partner choice you are way down the risk scale anyway. If there's a shortage, the NHS will be dispensing it on a priority basis, so just stick with them 'til it becomes available.

Hiding in the shadows

I had the Hep B done when worked in a SN school, was a few years ago, but I don't remember any side effects.

Had Hep A as part of holiday vaccines in April this year, no effects to that either

Side effects are usually no more than light flu symptoms if any.

There has been nationwide shortage of the Hep vaccine for over 7+ months. Its not just a nationwide shortage but global which is actually quite worrying as many newer swingers are naive about its importance with very few that I've talked to actually having had it.

There have been a couple other threads raised on this topic over the past year with similar discussions and its good to high light this again.

I had all 3 jabs for hep B with no side effects at all. I was tested afterwards and still had no immunity. They told me it works better on younger people. Ouch!!

There and to the left a bit

Had my Hep B jabs earlier in the year - no side effects beyond a sore arm for a few hours and tests show immunity which will be checked when annually I think

I had a course of hep b but it didn’t take properly. Had a second set and I’m now covered.

No side effects.

We've both had the full set of jabs and had the immunity check , all good and no side effects for either of us.

The shortage has led to the requirements for many health jobs suddenly being downgraded by the health executive!

It is usually still available privately from a pharmacy.

Not my last check up but the one beforehand they spoke to me to say I need a booster as my immune system is down. We arranged an appointment to have it done. A couple of days before they said they haf ran out so need to arrange it for another time. I went back at a later date for a check up and they gave me a hep b booster jab. So think it's a case of getting there after they have replenished stocks

This is me I had the course then was routinely tested was told my immunity was low so they wanted to give me the booster 9 months early. Had that the tested again and still low was told nothing then could do!
