It's not 'illegal' but if someone copies an image and uses it there may be a breach of copyright in certain circumstances. Good luck in trying to enforce that one via a self funded court action.

There are also situations where people can use copyright works without permission from the copyright owner, such as for private study or noncommercial research.

Basically if you don't want images copied; don't put them on the internet.

Well if it is posted on a forum such as this the rules apply as to anything put on social media copyright does not apply as you have put it out there . This is why many media outlets access pictures off face book because they can and legal .However where the criminal act takes place is if you take a picture and use it against the individual to cause fear,alarm or gain an advantage in some way etc then you will be prosecuted same also applies if you actually Dr a normal draped picture of an individual into a pornographic picture and pass it off as that person .

I think if you put a picture out in what's known as the public domain, you pretty much can't do anything if someone uses it.

If you post someone else’s nudes, you will be prosecuted. My ex was arrested for simply threatening to post my fab photos. (He was doing other stuff too)

It’s morally wrong to take people’s photos to show your mates etc

And this is exactly why I no longer have public photos.

Its not illegal to screenshot them. What you do after might be. Threatening or attempting to bl@ckmail someone obviously would.

Besides your computer will save images in its cache automatically anyway and theres technically no difference between that and a screenshot legally speaking.

And that copyright notice people have at the bottom of their profiles is meaningless. The only purpose that serves is to advertise youre gullible

That’s why the site discourage people from putting “copyright” notices and particularly the “Sydney University” drivel on their profiles..... it’s all utter bollocks and just takes up server space.

we had this recently, someone recognised us and said oh I’ve screenshot and sent to your work and kids school. Odd people
