Advice on hosting a party in our home

London

In a few weeks, we are hosting a small (10-15 people) party in our home. I've hosting tons of 'regular' parties in my life, but this is our first swinger's party! If anyone has any advice on do's and don't for the party itself I would appreciate it. Further, please share if you have ideas on how to ensure I get the number to turn up that I want, as well! Thanks.

Tell guests they must arrive before a certain time. You don't want to be having to answer the door all evening.

Get waterproof sheets or throws otherwise you’ll end up with gush on the carpet and spunk over the sofa

Sounds like fun - good luck! Lots of baby wipes, bowls of condoms and a stack of towels in the shower! Ikea is probably a good bet if you're buying 15 large bath towels. Also recommend lots of (safe) candles to create an intimate mood!

Just introduce people and mingle in yourselves like people say plenty of towels for people to use has saves your beds, maybe a couple of blow up beds case you need extra space to play, snacks so people can grab a bite between playing you can always ask for people to bring bits, we always take a few bits when we’ve been to parties and think the hosts appreciate it best of all enjoy it. Xx

Used to host lots of party's, invite 50% more than you really want, as your bound to have drop outs, of course occasionally everyone turns up lol, have a great one.

Great advice, all! Really helpful. Keep it coming! Thanks very much. Here's a follow up: we have an open plan living space which is where we want everything to take place (and, we'll create a couple areas with futons and blow up beds, etc), but we did not intend to have people upstairs in our bedrooms except for changing and leaving their stuff, just everyone together on the one floor. Does that seem ok? Also asking people to bring a bottle. Is that ok? We'll do the food and of course have some booze and nonalcholic drinks, too.

Guys

Some very good advice all round. Bring a bottle there own choice of drink is fine to ask,

Some light background music.remember it's your home and you make the rules.

Shame we're not in London area. Enjoy

Yes, there will be people cancelling before the night and on the night.

Also, you might have to answer many calls and texts on the night, from questions about finding the place to the total nonsense ones such as, "is the party still taking place"

If its all taking place in one open area and you're inviting 10-15 people it will be worth mentioning that to guests. Sometimes all being in the same space makes people feel pressured to play (I'm one of those people ) and it'll give them a chance to decline your invitation. It's your home, your rules and I wouldn't want people upstairs in my home either .

We've always taken drinks and host and hostess gift (chocolates, flowers etc) anyway to any party we've attended but would be more than happy if the hosts asked us to bring something.

Good luck, hope it all goes well.

If parking is a problem give guests some options in local vicinity. The ladies won't want to walk too far in heels!

Let guests know you have pets in case of allergies

If you need a butler let me know

All great points before. My thoughts and experiences suggest you have plenty of ice for drinks. Get a batch of condoms from your local clinic or online. Men to take shoes off on entering your home, no need for the ladies.

Have some bowls dotted around the room for used condoms and empty them as the night goes on.

It can get a bit hot and sweaty, so can you open windows without disturbing neighbours or have a fan handy if your neighbours are the type you don’t want to play with.

Think about where the smokers can have a fag and check forecast beforehand.

Have an extension lead or two handy for those electric wands / f-machines plus spare dildo batteries.

If you have guests who like to get the party started then great. If not think of an icebreaker game everyone can play.

Most of all have a bloody good time!

When I invite potential new guests to my Coffee Morning parties I always emphasise that there is no pressure or expectations of any playing but no objections if any guests get the urge to go upstairs and play. ..

one of my rooms upstairs is set aside for playing in.... lube and condoms on the bedside cabinets plus a bag on a wardrobe door handle for condom wrappers and used condoms etc.

Ask all guests to bring their own favourite brand/size of condom too incase they get to play.

Ask if any guests object to photos being taken....if any object then remind all guests on arrival that no pics to be taken.

Main thing is that is your house/ your rules. .... and to relax and enjoy yourself once the guests have arrived and any introductions have been made

All of the above. There will be a small group that we've played with before. Plus a few couples only we know, but they don't know each other. And, I've invited a few that I've been chatting with for awhile but we've yet to get together.

Ask guests to bring a contribution for the buffet, their own booze, and condoms. You are opening up your home, last thing you want is to have to foot the bill to feed and water them lol.

Set a "last entry" time.

Your house, your rules, but usually its social downstairs, play upstairs, keeps body fluids, condoms and tissues out of communal family areas lol.

Get lots (and lots) of towels.

Make it plain if any bedrooms are "out of bounds".

Invite double the number you want to turn up.

Take time out during the evening to have some fun yourselves.

Sadly many people of Fab tend to have a reputation in general for not being reliable. A recent organised social had 200 on the list. Only 100 turned up. That’s pretty flakey I think.

"Many"?

Lets be honest here, its guys.

They moan about not being able to get meets, and then put their names down for socials, parties and other events, where they would as a minimum gather a few veries, and even maybe have a little fun... and then don't turn up. And its not just a few, its a massive amount, some socials have had as much as a 90% no-show rate from single guys.

And then they wonder why they get a bad press!

Hi

Great suggestions so far. Where possible meet the people you’ve invited first even just for a coffee. That way you will feel more comfortable. Also I find more people actually turn up if you know them.

Also put condoms on to toys eg vibes, dildos, etc and have wipes handy. Boots give out packs of free condoms and you can get latex free as well as larger and sensitive as well.

There’s a few games you can play. There’s Jenga - put some dares on the sticks eg kiss a girl/guy, remove a piece of clothing, etc. Ann Summers do some games too and of course Love Honey.

I’d also set a time for leaving and be aware of noise levels if you have neighbours.

Have fun.

If people ask single men to pay £ 60 pound and allow women for free what you expect? don't blame men for everything

Who said anything about charging 60 quid for a social?

The south Wales socials cost a pound or two for entry, and we have been to more than 20 parties around here and have never paid, and nor has anyone else who has attended... including single guys.

I think you need to realise the difference between a genuine party run by swingers, for swingers... and a "party" run by a pimp with hookers, charging single guys for sex.... big difference.

Near Marlborough

I’ve hosted a few relatively successful house parties. Learned a few things each time.

Arrival times. Someone already mentioned you don’t want to be answering the door late into the eve. Late arrivals do really upset the vibe.

Numbers. Invite 3 times as many as you want.

Take care in who you’re inviting. If you know some already ... who do they know. Have they met others on your list before. I always asked if I could share who was coming and let people know. Nothing worse than arriving at a party realising someone you vowed never to meet again be there.

Balance. Couples or singles or a bit of both? Balance is hard to get right. Think about what the preferences of people you’re inviting.... wouldn’t mix newby soft swing only with hardcore kinky fuckery unless you wanted to give them a shove in the deep end.

Make it clear if you’re feeding people or not. I used to just put snacks out... sweet and savoury.

Make it clear if people are welcome to stay or not.

Make it clear for people to bring what they want to drink.

Ask people to bring their towels. Else you get stuck with the washing

Put throws over the furniture.

As hosts you may not get much playtime. You want to make sure people are happy all the time but once you relax and everyone is having fun don’t forget to do the same.

Check everywhere for condoms after the party. Once found one down the back of my sofa a couple of days later

V x

If you need an ice breaking game, I have made a bingo sheet called Swingo Bingo that you can print off from my blog. You get your guests to cross of the boxes on the sheet as they ask other guests saucy questions. The winner gets a prize.

Plenty of hot water, electric showers, amazing how quickly hot water can run out. Lots of towels, an obvious linen basket, for the towels that get too mucky.

Emergency clean up gear to hand, yes people drop plates of nibbles and glasses of drink.

Plenty of bottles of lubricant and dishes of condoms. If using toys, a place for unused ones and a place for used ones. Need to distinguish for obvious hygiene reasons.

Incense as when you get a lot of people together for sex, there is sweat, particularly arse crack sweat, so need to make all smell sweet.

Above all look after your guests

There appear to be quite a number of these paid parties were the entry fee guarantees sex with a host. They are as you say very different to a swingers party.
