We set our age range based upon those that we are most likely to connect with on a level other than sexual, not because we believe all over 50's are fat and balding. It did used to be higher but we knocked down given the amount some lie about their age.

We wouldn't ask a couple in a club how old they were, that would come down simply to mutual attraction and how well we connect. Just on fab we need some degree of selectivity.

I do in fact a number of older men, unfortunately they are celebrities and I've not managed to find them on Fab.

I certainly wasn't stomping my feet and saying it unfair...

I was curious as to the rationale. After all in a club we don't walk around with an age badge on. Just saying by putting an arbitrary cutoff people could miss out on meeting folks they might really connect with.

We put a cut off at the upper and lower age end, we might miss out but its a risk we're prepared to take. At 60 and 61 we're out of loads of people's age range, we concentrate on the profiles we are compatible with.

So would you really meet ANY ladies between the ages of 18-99 OP? Or would someone young enough to be your granddaughter or old enough to be your grandmother put you off?

I know it would me - which is why I set my age preferences as I do, as do others - no point moaning about it, it's no different from any other preference people state on here - you just have to accept it.

It works both ways we won't entertain someone we could be parents too. I don't see the 20somethings complaining or trying to understand the probable simple rational behind most age brackets. If a sixty year old says on profile they just like 20-30 year olds guess what they will find people of that age who like older, unless you struggle with everyday tasks its simple to understand

Thanks. I agree to an extent. However looks are important to me in casual encounters and I prefer a mature face and body so I'd be unlikely to meet under about 38.

We put a range on here to give people a rough idea and also for searches. When we are in clubs we tend to talk to people we find attractive and go from there.

This site is a filter, and from experience we take ages on here with a pinch of salt!

Some 40 year old guys look 60 and some 60 year old guys look 45, but if any of them act 85 or 20 then not interested!

The ladies tend to be more like the ages they state!!

Try being in a mixed age relationship, there’s 15 years between us and that’s where the fun really begins as everyone we’re attracted to it seems one of us is too young and the other too old.

I personally prefer older men but they’ve got to make the same effort with appearance as my partner does and have a good attitude although my dad is 53 so anyone older than him it just gets a bit weird for me.

My OH is 48, I am 34, the age difference sometimes gets to us.

Our cut off age is 52 for others if both sex. We've had some couples who won't play with us because I am too young for them and vise versa with them being too old for me. Until u meet someone in person you cannot gauge how you will feel.

I think that people only care about somebody's age limits when they fancy them, and are 1yr outside the limit.

For us its more about what she wants as shes only 32, her dad is in his mid 50's, this plays on her mind. Although there is one couple who we have spoken to and he is 52 but he has and extremely good body he looks mid 20's body wise (not joking), hopefully meeting up with them soon.

So, some people have the temerity to have a preference that excludes you...boo hoo...get over yourselves! I tire of stating this, but it's not getting through: we will NEVER have universal appeal. If people concentrated on those seeking their age/height/sexual orientation etc instead of those NOT seeking them we'd be spared the daily glut of these entitled threads.

Everyone has different preferences based on age, looks etc. It goes both ways though, there's been women on here I've wanted to message but can't because I'm a couple of years too young. So sometimes being older does help.

If your in good shape then sooner or later you'll probably come across someone who likes older guys.

We are 50 plus.

For some reason we seem to get offers from young cples. Some as young as 25.

Obviously We are very flattered but not sure what it is we have that young people want.

I have chatted and played with a wide age range so left my preferences open. Doesn't mean I'd meet a 99 year old but if i set an arbitrary limit of eg 60 i don't want to rule out that gorgeous 61 year old.

It's frustrating that some women might be put off by me being their dad's age, because in lots of other ways I'm probably totally unlike their dad. But I do understand it, we all make arbitrary choices based on all sorts of factors.

And at 52 I'm bald with a belly but I do ok.
