not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

As I'm a bloke, and we very ( read never .) ask for help guidance ( directions, probably why we struggle with the g spot.) It's against all my gut instincts , however ... help advice needed please...

I have quite a few messages in my sent items that have been read, and not deleted ,, can someone please inform me of the subtle nuances ... I get the delete ... no explanation required:.. I don't want to be pushy so haven't followed up on these message with another

Thanks for reading... Darryl..

I never delete any messages, just let them drop off the bottom as more come in. It doesn't mean anything lol

Agreed - don't try to 'read anything into' the fact that a message you sent hasn't been deleted. In fact, unless you want to go quietly mental, it's probably a good idea to try and forget you have a 'sent' folder..

If you haven't had a reply, they're almost certainly not interested. Tell yourself this, and you never know, the one in a hundred where it was simply in a 'pending' list till the couple could both discuss it, or somesuch other reason, and they do actually get back to you - that becomes a bonus!

I'm the same

Immediately delete if haven't read my profile but leave to go back to sometimes if they look interesting

Although I also 'forget' to delete and go back and do later lol

"it's probably a good idea to try and forget you have a 'sent' folder.. "

This! After the first couple of weeks here, I decided it did no good at all to check my sent mail. I'd recommend just sending a message and then forgetting about it, no matter how much you may have liked the profile and want a response.

No subtlety, they just havent deleted their mail.

Stop checking your sent mail( i dont even know how to) and over analysing how others use the site.

I am terrible for this I confess.

Sometimes processing so much is hard, and if I am unsure I will leave the message there so I dont forget to review it.

Also as I have a life, sometimes I am about to respond and I end up leaving the laptop, or answering the phone etc, the longer I am logged on the more messages come in and sometimes I look at the number and think 'tomorrow'

I use the internet to enchance my life, not live it, so when real life needs my attention, then the internet quickly goes by the wayside, no matter how many emails there are waiting.

I wondered how long it would before Jemima would have a go. I asked something similar the other day but I think Daryll has worded it much better than I did. But still she throws in the negatives.

I'm risking getting banned so wont say any more but thanks for asking Daryll

I have started to clear out my Inbox on a regular basis by deleting all read messages.

Those I want to keep will be in my Saved Messages folder.

Personally, if and when I send a "I am interested in meeting up again" message out and do not get a respond, then I take it that the recipient is not interested in a repeat, and leave it as that.

There are plenty more fishes in the sea, so why worry?!

Simples.

People use the messaging in very different ways. You will drive yourself mad thinking about what things really mean etc. The best course of action really is to just concentrate on your inbox - best of luck

Thin skins and swinging do not go together, and i do not see how straight talkning is having a go.Male female couple or single anyone who asks strangers questions about their own own use of the site gets the same response from me.

Swinging advice i am always willing to give, hand holding as people dither other each sent mail, no, not my style.

We have no persistant way when it come to messages, but they are never deleted until both of us have read it. Mr A does most of the replying to people we dont know (as i cant be assed replyin to one liners), I normally only reply to friends. We can have messages a few weeks old before we delete, sometime they are deleted same day.
