Read the forums for a couple of days/weeks,

Think of a question you might want to ask and type it into the search for subjects box, There is a good chance it has been asked before or something similar,

Look at other peoples profiles for tips on how to write your profile and take pictures,

Read profiles in full before thinking about sending a message,

Read the rules on fab,

Have fun

You may find that it's more efficient not to ask the same question multiple times in different forums. Just pick one that you feel is more appropriate for the subject that you want to discuss. In your case, either would've been fine. You'll find it easier to keep track of replies that way!
