Can anyone advise me as to the rules on posting links.. i see a few posted around to open by copy and paste. so that seems ok but having tried a few minutes ago and getting the whole post removed instead of just the link

tell what is allowed and what is not . thanks.

At least you only had the post removed - I was given a 24 hour 'time out' - first offence and the link was to the national archives. Oh well - rules is rules. Consistency when doling out the penalties would be nice though

Mods can't edit your post, so if you break rules on the post, the whole post gets removed.

As others have said, check out the forum rules and it will tell you what links are allowed and all the other rules you should know about before you post.
