Chams last night - shocking behaviour

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Last night in Chams there was a very unpleasant woman who decided it was ok to hit her partner in front of everyone.

Another woman spoke up and told her to pack it in - she got a mouthful of abuse.

The guy seemed to just take it.

Staff did come and deal with it.

But if you are on here you should be bloody ashamed of yourself. Violence is never ok.

It’s never ever acceptable. I hope the couple were asked to leave.

You mean you hope she was asked to leave and that the abusive woman gets help and stops abusing her partner. It's probably much worse behind closed doors.

not nice to see that and you only saw that display- what goes on at home might be worse for either party - but club isnt the place and it was dealt with - never seem violennce but have seen d*unken rows a couple of times in clubs and both times dealt with professionally

I did tell him it wasn’t acceptable and he doesn’t have to put up with it. But he didn’t seem to want to listen

Unfortunatly that side of domestic violence doesnt get enough coverage. Just look at all the clips on you tube where they test men fake attacking women vs women fake attacking the men and seeing how people nearby react.

I certainly don't think the woman's actions are acceptable. However I've witnessed in about 3-4 visits enough to know this club is not what I want to see in a swinging club. The very last time we left, a woman was being held up by her partner, she was so d*unk. Falling over d*unk and had been for hours. She interrupted our play twice, shouting and slurring. An utter embarrassment AND her male partner carried on letting her drink in an environment like that.

We reported it on the way out - Sunday aftertnoon this - and the male member of staff seemingly didn't give a fuck / oh he was hungover too the couple behind us also pointed to a review the club had on this problem.

Overall just got the feeling that Chams don't give a care about anyone's safety. I expect more posts like this.

I do hope she gets help, one of the first steps though is to make it clear this behaviour is never acceptable and that’s why the club should certainly have asked her to leave.

Shouldn’t have kicked them out, simply called the police. The way I see it is if it has happened once the likelihood is that aggression is regular in which case you have no idea how to guy felt. Maybe he didn’t seem interested because he was genuinely fearful of her or loves her. Domestic violence is a crazy labyrinth of emotions but fortunately the police are now able to press charges without consent from the victim. Anyhow it’s a horrible sight I would not like to see.

I had a meet with a couple not too long ago and the woman did not have much good to say about Chameleons. She said one problem was the cliquish nature of the club itself. I am also assuming that the women in question was probably thoroughly intoxicated. Now, take the fact that there was a thread not too long ago with plenty seemingly excusing the fact that you have plenty of alcoholic women/couples attending clubs to "calm the nerves". It seemed many were perfectly okay with accepting shitty d*unk behavior as part and parcel of the club experience.

Sorry but when you have shitty attitudes like that excusing by the same cliquey mentality on these forums it no surprise that people with the same time of behavior frequent chams and thus there leading to one too many recounts of stuff like this.

Have been to Chams on several occasions and never once encountered behaviour like this. Nor any cliques. But have never attended on a Saturday evening which seems to be when these incidents happen.

All places where people drink alcohol will have issues to deal with at some point. The manner in which any problems or incidents are dealt with is what makes the difference between an ok venue and a really good venue in my opinion.

Fortunately, we have not had the misfortune of experiencing poor behaviour in any clubs when we've visited

I find that any club where alcohol is available there are usually issues.

Some people feel they need to drink to give them confidence to play.

Unfortunately this can lead to domestics. Chams and other clubs will intervene as soon as they are aware of the situation.

For some reason these seem to happen more frequently on the couple's only nights I have attended.

Many years ago I was on a study day on maternal mental health and the specialist told us of a woman with bi-polar who, when on a ‘high’ insisted on taking her husband to a swingers club. He could do nothing but go with her to make sure she was safe.

We simply don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.

This is a rare occurrence at Chams, yes there are people that get d*unk but it's a very small minority.

Violence is ever acceptable and I'm glad to hear the club sorted it out promptly.

Regarding cliquey behavior, Chams is the least cliquey club I've been to, please don't turn this into a slagging off Chams thread because this really is a very rare incident.

Agreed it's not cliquey

Personally think since new dancing area opened its been a lot noisier and a fair few very d*unk people... they do spoil the fun with the d*unken behaviour..

Still a great club

Have to say Chams has been great every time I've visited it too. The staff are all friendly and every guest I've met in there are there to enjoy themselves. I haven't been for a while but I'm sure it was a one off. I've only found Eurekas more enjoyable to go to.

asked him if it's ok to play? I've never asked a partner if it's ok, I ask the person I'm interested in playing with, as it's their body, their choice. I would only ask their partner if it was part of a role play scenario.

We regularly visit Chams and have never had an issue.

I am sure as people say there are reasons for the ladies behaviour wether excusable or not .. not for us to judge.

But please do not let this tarnish Chams . The staff are normally very pleasant and quick acting .

We could hardly be considered part of any clique there, it's been over a year between our last visit and our most recent visit on Friday night. I can quite emphatically state that it was far from cliquey! We met and chatted with some lovely couples and single men

Sadly you get d*unk people, idiots, aggressive partners and all sorts of other undesirable traits at pretty much every and any club night. Just like you get bullying at every school. It's how it's dealt with that is important and Chams are usually pretty good dealing with issues when reported.

I feel sad for the male victim and hope he finds a way to access some support for himself.

We were at Chams last night too and unfortunately the behaviour of some of the guests was very disappointing, certainly the atmosphere was a lot worse than on previous visits for a number of reasons.

Unfortunately people having very public domestic disputes is awful for the people involved but also for others in the club but it was dealt with quickly. Fingers crossed the gentleman is Ok, I do know he left the club before the lady but whether he was waiting outside for her I do not know.

Agree on violence cannot be tolerated whether from the male or the famale.

Chams is easily the best club in the area by far.

How can they be held responsible for their clientele's behaviour.

They have adopted a "had enough to drink" policy which we have witnessed whilst at the bar and all put across discretely and professionally may we add.

Chams is my favourite club having spend many many happy times there.

I’ve not been for quite a while but I know if I walked in today I would be welcomed with hugs from the staff and many of the customers.

Such a friendly place. Such a fun place.

There will always be arseholes who spoil a night for some and every club will get them from time to time.

I really must get my ass back there soon. My ass is very popular there..... apparently
