Hi everyone just looking for abit of advice really. We are going to be attending our first social in December and we are pretty nervous we were wondering if anyone else could share there experiences? What was it like for you guys and girls? Oh and What should we wear? And if you've got any other tips please let us know haha

Also on top of that what type of people go? we have been looking at the guest list and we see to be younger than most, it doesn't bother us but do other people tend to be put off by someone much younger than them?

Any input is appreciated thank you

Where is the social?

If it is a vanilla environment then it'll be what you would usually wear when you go out.

A social should be just that, so no play. It's just a night out with some saucy chat maybe. You'll wonder what you were nervous about after you've been lol

Stunning pictures btw xxx

When I met my first couple, we met at their local pub. We simply had a friendly chat and drink and it went naturally from there.

When I’ve met two single ladies previously, I simply treated it like a date. Get to know the person and try to relax as best you can. It will all happen naturally.

Best of luck

Is it a group social? Where is it being held?

I co-hosted one on Saturday, it was just a drink in the afternoon in a pub, so people just wore clothes that wear casual.

If in a pub etc be aware that others maybe earwiging, especially if you have to talk over a noisy bar and jukebox and get those sudden quiet moments whilst in mid shout, so maybe best not to meet too local.

Ok cool so if you were us i'd be thinking smart casual for him and little black dress type for her. If he has sense he'll buy her the sexy underwear to go underneath the little black dress so she can feel it even if others don't see it lol

You have nothing to be nervous of its just a night out with like minded people with no prior commitment.

Your age I think you will be the some of the youngest at most places at the moment. There are some specialist events that take place but not huge amounts. The chic events would be worth looking at for you guys.

But age is just a number. If there's spark there's spark

Feel free to drop us a msg if you want to...

Have the organisers held it before? If so, they should be able to tell you how risqué I’d acceptable.

If you like the look of anyone who is going, either to chat to or anything else, message and introduce yourself before the event, it’s a good way to break the ice when you get there if you already know some names.

we went to the last York social which was fancy dress. A lot of people however wore all sorts of things from street clothes to sexy party wear. Its Christmas themed so that might give you some ideas. The hosts are very experienced and great at communicating so jyst ask them any questions you might have, I'm sure they'll be keen to help and put any fears you may have to rest...it was a great, social night with all ages.

Hiding in the shadows

I went to my first group social last month.

I knew a few of the folk going from chatting here on the forums, but I was still very nervous.

Everyone was lovely, it really was a great night, totaly relaxed, just a group of people chatting in a pub.

I hope you have a really great time xx

Traffic land

I've just attended my first social as a single woman (the event sexy brunette co hosted), I'd never met any of the attendees before and I was practically hyperventilating whilst summoning up the courage to go in

However, shortly after arriving and getting chatting, I wondered what I'd been so worried about.

The York social is very friendly so there is no need to worry. Dress in whatever you are comfortable in. Some people dress up and some go in smart casual. No one will judge you.

I went to the last one on my own and was soon chatting to people and making friends.

Don't drink a whole bottle of jack Daniels in your hotel room before going and then get tipped over the edge with a single measure when you get three

That's what I was about to say

A decent Fab social is all about meeting, chatting and laughing with others from the site. Sex has nothing to do with it.

Unless the social is being held in a swinging club environment you dress as you would to go out for a night with friends.

Whatever you do don't worry about it, it's another great side to swinging

We go to most socials in Yorkshire are always great nights. We have been to York one can definitely say it’s a great friendly atmosphere there, we ended up spending last one on dance floor nearby all night . We are going to one in December as well. Lots of people meet up before the social starts in pub up the road ( sorry can’t remember name of it) it usually gets mentioned on the social forum post few days before. No need to worry tho you’ll have a great night
