A question for the ladies mainly.

Has anyone on here had a breast reduction or a breast uplift.

Considering one and just wanted to chat and get advise and any hospitals to consider.

Look for a BAAPS registered surgeon. Many do free mini consultations/ information evenings so you can talk to them and ask any questions you have. They should have examples of work they've done and be able to tell you what to expect.

They should also tell you what can go wrong, so you can make an informed decision.

Have a look on the Real Self site- lots of great info on there about all kinds of procedures.

I've had augmentation and my best advice would be to speak to your doctor for advice. They will be able to arrange referral for a consultation too. Get all the gen. Best of luck to you, I know it's a big operation xx

My neighbor has just had one, well a few months ago now.

I know nothing about it tbh apart from she is so happy with the result.

She suffered from the weight of them terribly so she's literally floating on air now.

Thank you all. I've rang around a few clinics in the southwest and hoping to get it done in December.

Got a consultation next week so will let you know.

To all the guys that messaged me regarding this post to keep my boobs as they are, it ain't going to happen. The pain in my neck and back isn't worth it and I hate how droopy and heavy they are.

I had a lift a few years ago. (Breast feeding might be good for the baby but not for your boobs)

I went to a Wellesley hospital, had a free mini appointment and then booked. I'm still happy with the results.

I had mine done after a big weight loss. I had mine repositioned (lifted) plus implants as I didn’t have enough fat to make a good boob. They look great, mostly happy but I’ve been left with nips I can no longer feel. No sensation at all - which is a risk. No regrets but something to consider xxx

Had mine reduced 20 years ago - delighted though it didn't go entirely smoothly - still the best thing I did for myself.

When they say take at least three weeks off from doing ANYTHING - do what they say - and enjoy doing NOTHING for THREE WEEKS lol you can thank me later

I had a reduction about 18 years ago. I've lost sensation in the nipples and breast area and suffer tremendous pain in the cold still.

I had it done for the wrong reason and that's the only reason I regret it. Even with the faults though I do love my boobs.

I had a reduction about 8/9 years ago. Went from a HH to a DD.

Had a few complications but so pleased I did it x

My sister had hers done at a private clinic. She researched and researched to find a good surgeon, but still had some complications and had to have them redone but now she's really happy with them.

There's 1 thing not been said here before: breast reduction surgery is not available on the NHS, so you would need to go private.

Mine was done on NHS - due to the impact it had on my health and the issues caused by them. Talk to your Doc.

If it were wanted purely for cosmestic reasons it won't be covered by NHS, but it is not ruled out where other problems are involved.

my friend got hers lifted because she said it was causing her depression! it was done in a private hospital but paid for by nhs
