Possible photo stealing

So I just had a message from what seemed like a genuine couple, they added me me on a messaging platform, we spoke a little and then I accepted their friends request.

A few minutes later they block me on Fab and do not respond to me...... could they have stolen my private photos?

Has anyone else had this happen before?

it's more likely they didn't like something they saw in your friends pics.

but yes they could also steal your pics i suppose.

True, it's just seemed a little odd.

When I spoke to them, well I say to them it was to the man of the relationship asking to swap pics..... I said no and that was that - blocked.

You didn't give him what he wanted so he blocked you.

A good rule is to not post photos that will easily identify you if it would cause you problems.

The easiest way is not to have face pics but just have a limited few public pics and no friend pics.

Then if anyone wants to see more pics of you, then they will have to meet you in person.

Pic hunters and time wasters will continue if their habit is fed.

Not only you'll get to see their face as many times as you want, but more importantly, you will get to experience their personalit when you meet for a social !!!

Puzzled why some seek face photos, possibly to judge a book it's cover? You can't be discreet and send face pics.

But do you have to block to remove as a friend? Can't you just remove the friend?

I see your point, however I didn't 'give' them my pics.

I allowed them to view them (obviously I'm jumping to conclusions without knowing for certain if they did take any) but if someone was then to download the image as use it to make gains/create a fake profile etc. Surely that is some type of breach of copyright or privacy or something?

Set yourself a new rule, only allow genuine people you have met in person access to your friends only pics !! That's what I do

regardless of the letter of the law, I think you can take it as read that you have no expectation of privacy at all the minute you put any pics or information on the internet..believing otherwise is, im afraid, a bit naive....ages ago on here someone posted a comment saying something along the lines of 'never put up anything you wouldnt be happy blown up to poster size and hung outside euston station'...that prety much covers it!

Giant picture of my ass in Euston Station? Hmmmm haha

There wasn't any incriminating photos, I just found the situation a bit odd.

I think your looking into this too much.

They obviously were not for you so they blocked you, it's their choice after all.

Just move on, plenty more out there.

We had a guy contact us to say we'd met him before. We hadn't but he insisted we had. Turned out another couple had stolen our body pics and used them on their profile. They were actually meeting based on our pics. So pics do get stolen and not just face pics.
