Prostate pain

Hi all, I wonder if any other men on here have had similar symptoms as I have. For the last week I have got suspected prostatis. A lot of discomfort at the base of penis area and pain on ehaculation. Very frustrating as I can't play feeling like this. How long did it take to resolve if you have had similar. Genuine comments please

You're first course of action should be call the NHS helpline.

If you go to your GP before having consulted the fab forums they get very annoyed.

The OP is right to ask here first, the NHS is under a great deal of pressure.

Yes of course I have been to GP and am on anti biotics. Also went to the Sexual health clinic on Monday for an MOT just incase. It was advice from those who had similar I was looking for

Note. If I am foolish enough to orgasm it makes the discomfort worse as does sitting down. Hope it only lasts a few days

If the anti biopics don't work your Gp will refer you to a urology consultant and hate to tell you this but it potentially could last a fair while!!

In some case be a recurring infection

Having recently had the same symptoms I visited the GP, waste of time, they referred me to the GUM clinic, all tests came back negative for any nasty's. Since then I've tried for the last two weeks to get an appointment, so far zit. For me tho, the symptoms have dispersed now, an sex isn't an issue,

Likewise. Got my results back from GUM and all negative. Haven't dared playing or getting aroused for fear of irritating it. Seems to have settled down today. Let's hope it's passing. Very strange!

From what I read most doctors prescribe anti biotics in the "hope" it clears up. Mines settled down a lot over the last 4 weeks, as can't get appointments for the local doctors due to over-subscribing, an I won't go to a&e as I truly don't feel I need to, there are people out there that likely need those services more than me
