Apologies if this is a well covered subject.

I'm genuinely wanting to make new friends and chat and meet.

I appreciate the ratio of men to women here is very high, but I'm really finding it difficult to get responses and positive responses to people I contact.

I would really appreciate any tips you can provide me with what I should be including in an opening message to people.

Tailored to each person and picking out topics mentioned in their profile I understand.

Long or succinct?

What do people like to see included in messages you receive, and what encourages you to respond positively?

Thanks for any useful hints and tips you can provide.

Brighton - even Hove!

Don't rely solely on fab, use the real world as well. Use all of fab too, the forum, the chat rooms, the meets section etc

Just be yourself and then you'll stand out.

A profile pic would help OP, a lot won't reply otherwise

What a lot of guys need to remember is when trying to chat to couples is you need to get past hubby first and address him also not rambling on about how good you can fuck the lady better than anyone else lol if that's the case why are we still married after 21 years lol

I avoid most comments about sex in my opening messages. Leaving that for later

Honestly? I don't even open a shadowed avatar message, to even get to the message. You could write an epic one and I wouldn't know.

This is how I approach messages as a single female on here:

1) From your post on here you don't have a problem with txtspk or a poor grasp of spelling/grammar so that gets a tick

2) Is there anything to catch my eye in the title or first line? I work on humour so anything like 'Hi my name is...' or 'I really like your profile, you seem really...' probably won't make it stand out for me.

3) Ok, so I'm intrigued by something in that first line but I won't read the message yet. I have permanent ninja stealth mode set so I'll have a look at your profile. Yours is actually really good, well written, gives me a sense of who you are and what you're looking for and an impression that you've spent some time on it. You come across as a lovely guy and you have a decent face pic. All ticks.

4) So now it's time for the message. I don't need mine too long, pithy is fine, as long as it makes me grin, introduces topics to converse on and asks me a couple of questions. It has to make me want to write back.

All of this has to happen without me getting distracted by work/family/cooking/other half/something on tv/a sabretooth tiger ambush or I'll forget to come back and by the time I'm on again, there'll be a few dozen more messages to wade through.

Usually? It's down to timing. I'm not talking to anyone else and your message caught my eye and the stars and planets aligned, cherubim frolicked as a seraphim choir raised their voices in song and I was able to talk to you for long enough for me to get invested.

Just keep going and there'll be a lady out there

Thanks for the great advice. I'll bear this in mind for my next message

London

You're married and older, either someone will want to shag your or not and so far it's not.

I doubt there's little you can do to improve that.

Have you been to clubs? Played there?
