Security identification! Real or scam

Hi I havnt been on her very long! And Someone has just asked me for a security Id number! They wanted me to follow a link they sent and enter a promo code, Then wanted me to login to a site and use my cc details which apparently is stored incase something happens when meeting! Am I right in thinking this is a scam? As I didn't think that sort of thing happens on this site!

Quite a clever idea for a scam.

Not quite up there with a link to your Facebook page with a link to a virus. But up there.
