I'd even argue it's probably more for the husband's benefit than anyone else in the three people involved, though I'm open to that not being quite accurate for some people. Sometimes it's not even about the sex - it's about the location of the power amongst the three of you. Years ago I was involved with a couple where I used to take the wife out for a meal before we went back. He said that her being out of reach was by far the horniest part of the deal as the whole scenario was totally out of his control which both killed and excited him more than later when "the sex bit" happened. It doesn't work, so we stopped looking and focused on making friends within the scene and meeting guys who were not interested in that particular dynamic. But everyone and then we stumble across someone who enjoys and understands that dynamic. And it's wonderful when that happens.
