Northern England

You can buy quality rope direct from the manufacturer - at any length to suit. Google "Cheap Rope".

Agreed, equally depends on the type of play, sometimes a rough rope for say consequence play is good, other times more sensuous ropes are good.

Would research nerve and blood flow maridrams

The North / Party Hard Everywhere

Depends on what you want to do. I started with coloured cotton rope from love honey which is perfect to start out with. I later bought 6x jute 8m from esinem for more 'proper' shibari (the one I tied you with). That's not ideal for suspension though so looking for hemp and need more than 6 if I want to do transitions. I also have 100m of hot pink cotton rope for decorative clubwear (bought at a local sex shop) and nasty coconut rope for any masochists that I use with bottle tops

It really does depend on what you are planning to do with the rope SB.

I prefer natural fibre ropes such as hemp or jute, the rope I used to tie you was 8mm Jute.

I treat all my ropes myself, You can apply different treatments to get different degrees of softness and scent. The more you do, the softer it’s likely to get. So take that into account when you consider which treatments you want to use.(if you are going to treat the ropes that is)

Cotton is already soft, as is silk, I had a few of each if you remember

I also have some coconut rope too, we didn't use that because its just too rough, theres nothing soft about that stuff (and you bruise far too easy)

I noticed on 'the site that can't be mentioned a friend has joined a York rope group. It may be worth seeing if you have a local peer rope group. It may be worth waiting until you have been to a rope event and have tried the different type of ropes before buying.

Having your own rope is a personal choice.
