Hi so I've searched the forum and can't find any previous posts on this so here goes. I've had a few lumps on my balls had them all fixed no problem but this has happened more than once. So here is the thing .... as at this point they have been just lumps but the doc says in his mind and experience it's possibly only a matter of time and I will have one that is cancer. So he has suggested that I have them both removed

before that date. So ?????? Do I ?? He then said I could have prosthetic balls put in so I look complete or not ?? So do I ?? Dose having balls really make a difference to any one ???

Unfortunately only you can really answer that question.

However I would say it wouldn't be an issue for me with a potential sexual partner at all whether they had had their balls removed or/& had prosthetic balls or not.

So a guy who couldn't get an erection , and had no sex drive wouldn't be an issue ?

Sorry about this dilemma op , it's a truly tough one and I would look into the possibility of keeping at least one of them .

Failing that , would hormone therapy help you keep a sex drive of sorts ?

Thanks for your replays.

The sex drive question isn't the problem as hormones fix that and by all accounts they are very good. So I could cum like normal get hard all the same as now. I've had all the tests and I'm in a high risk group. So loosing them is proberbly the right thing to do.

But ........ do I : keep the sac and have prosthetic ones or : just be smooth down there ???

Does it make any difference or will I be the freek that no one would want ??

It wouldn't make any difference to me but I can only speak for myself not other women. How would you feel about yourself that's the most important question? If you're happy and comfortable with your decision it's easier to disregard the people who aren't.

Regarding erection & sex drive isn't the issue. But in response to your question I guess if you have no sex drive you wouldn't be fussed about having a 'sexual' partner. But also a lot of fun can be had without a penis or without an erection and lots of toys so plenty of options.

OP As I said and someone else said above balls or no balls no issue for me.

However have you asked about whether you could have prosthetic balls at a later date if you didn't immediately? I guess there would be the issue of how much skin they removed or not, but just wondered.

I agree, some women do like to feel balls slapping their bum hole in vigorous missionary position. But personally it wouldn't put us off or make him a freak if he didn't have them.

Thank you again for your posts. Yes I can have plastic ones. Buy my understanding is they are pritty much fixed up against the body. So the slack movement isn't there at all. I'm just not sure of the need or the point of a sac with plastic balls. I can have my natural ones removed and the sac left. Then make the decision later but then is more surgery. If / when I have them removed I can just have the sac removed as well. I'm really undecided as to what to do. I'm just trying to get a measure as to people's thought on is it a problem sac or no sac ??

Would you be happier with yourself if you had no balls or had implants? It's all down to how you'd feel about each option, deffo go for the surgery though, as you said you've had the lumps before and likely to get them again so they will have to be removed sooner or later, IMHO Better to get them removed sooner and not have to worry about more lumps appearing in the future.

A friend of mine had his removed years ago gor the same thing and has prosthetic balls, I remember him saying they felt real enough weight and look wise and he didn't feel put of place when in a communal shower etc. His wife is also unphased by them. The choice is yours, though I would also ask about freezing your sperm.

Thanks. As for freezing not really a consideration as I'm now 47 and have had all the family I'm interested in. I'm just not convinced one way or the other. I've looked at so many forums and read so many blogs that I think my head will explode. But still not sure as to the best thing. I know they are defiantly going and soon I think. But as to what to do after not sure.

having no sac wouldnt bother me if i knew beforehand as id know what to expect. But i do think it would be embarressing if it hadnt been mentioned as it would like being the elephant in the room

Hi all thought I would update on this old thread. I’m now on hormones so I’ve got back normal function. I’ve struggled this year with medical people being slow. I ended up with a very poor urologist. So I’m hoping that this year they remove them. I’m now on some very strong pain relief and there is little room for anything more. Any thoughts from you all ??

So sorry to hear your newa after so long. I remember your story from when I was on fab previously.

Apologies if I am a bit 'out there'.... get prosthetic ones and enjoy being able to bang them all over (I assume they would be bullet proof). Make a small positive from all the suffering you have been through. In fact can you get any shape ball you want? Be creative! Hope I'm not being insensitive... my thoughts are with you, but you already sound brave and strong.

I've always thought that those things they can make now where they replace your erection tissue with a balloon were a great idea. Arguably superior to the real thing.

I can't imagine there aren't a few ladies on here that would be interested in riding a bionic penis that hardens on command and stays hard for as long as they can handle it. Almost worth losing your balls for :D

Sorry to hear your bad news. The main thing has to be your health so I'd be guided by what the docs say.

But if, after treatment, it's just a question of aesthetics then - if it were me - I would probably get some implants to keep as close to the look I had been used to my while life? Might make the adjustment easier.

But as others have said, this is a very personal choice - and go with what you feel is right for you, not what you think others would prefer.

Ok if it was me in your situation, I would get prosthetics. I would want to feel & look like myself, as much as possible. As much as this experience will always be part of your history, leaving the sack empty will always be a reminder & questioning looks from any 'visitors' will keep you in your past.

A couple of thoughts here, first see a urologist for the advice to be sure, you've said doctor, so maybe you have seen your GP for this advice, who by definition and not an expert in this field.

Secondly, before the deed if it comes to that, you might wish to have sperm frozen if it is active.

The best point however is well done for not being in denial about this and facing the prospect of artificial nuts. We know of a chap who has one following losing one in an accident and the various partners were concerned they didn't know. Having both obviously they will experience a lack of semen, in his case, it wasn't an issue. Once again well done, refreshing to hear of men looking after themselves

Thanks for updating us op. I hope they sort it soon for you.

I have a friend who had testicular cancer and lost one ball. He has a prosthetic one now.

It was his dominant ball and the remaining one wasn’t doing its job of controlling his testosterone levels so he’s now on testosterone to supplement it.

There were issues for quite a while where it was too low and he was lethargic and lacked any drive let alone sex drive. Other times they over shot and he was aware he was feeling very aggressive.

It’s all ok now though and, as far as I know, his sex knife is back in track.

Thankyou all of you. As I said I’m on hormones now. That means that basically my own t production is now tuned off. I can get hard and have a good sex life as normal. I have my old energy levels back and things are improving with every cycle. So I’m left with useless and pain full balls. That in the grand scheme of things need to go.

Now I’m leaning to the thought of removing the balls and the sack. Then there is nothing there to give me pain. There are some small chance that prosthetic balls can cause pain at the point they are fixed to me. The sack will just hang loss around them. They also don’t have the movement that natural balls have. I’m thinking it’s just not worth the risk as I want to be off the painkillers.

Yes I’ve now see 4 urologist all of them have a different opinions that makes it very difficult. My gp is very understanding she gets why I want to be pain free and is happy to keep referring me till I find the right person to help.

There is a real stigma thing about the guys balls. I don’t care I’m enough of a man not to need balls to say I’m a man. There is also the thing that medical people dont remove “healthy” tissue. But here’s the thing what is healthy ??

I hope I’m answering points as you all bring them up. I’ve been at this now for over a year. It’s getting me down now.

So my saga continues I’ve still to find a urologist that is helpful. But I have now see the top pain consultant in are Nhs trust. She has been the most helpful professional I have see. She is in Principal ok with the orci operation. But yes always a but she wants my pain to be well controlled first. She is concerned that my nerves are in a high state and there would be a high risk of permanent phantom pain. Ok I get that would be a good reason to wate a little longer. So she has offered me a spinal cord stimulator. This is a electronic device that is implanted in the spine and interrupts the pain signal to the brain. She said that if that goes well then having a orchecomy would then be a good opportunity to be more pain free. She isn’t sure I will ever be pain free. Just pain at a lower level. That would be a good step forward. On a good note my hrt is going well. My balls have shrunk about 25% and now they are not doing anything they are a bit less painful. Also my bloods have now settled down and I’m in the normal ranges. So I can expect to be on hrt forever without any blood problems. I’m really pleased about that. I hope this all makes sense. Thankyou for listening.
