Have only started thinking about this.

Has anyone had it done? What was your experience and is it permanent? Also, what is the difference between that and IPL?

Havent had it done but know someone who used to perform electrolysis (which i am shortening to E to save my horrendous typing lol)

E is the only permanent form of hair removal ... a small needle like probe is inserted into every hair follicle (not all in one session) and kills the follicle so the hair wont grow back ... i think each follicle can require a few rounds but once its dead that its

Lazer is more of semi permanent option ... its not guaranteed it wont come back (although it would likely be much more sparse) and it works by the lazer seeking out the pigment so also if any hair is fair or your skin is dark it can be less effective at determining what is hair (darker skin can feel more painful because it absorbs some of the lazer too)

Thanks.

As i say, still just thinking about it. Not sure what the impact of no facial hair would be on everyday life and whether i would ever regret it.

I might be wrong but I think the main difference is that electrolysis targets single hairs, whereas laser does a wider area. Laser only works on darker hair though. Both are permanent but need quite a few sessions.

I've got an IPL paid very good money for it and it didn't really do the job , I've got dark hair but it's very course and after 6 moths of doing my chest , twice a week I'd gone patchy but honestly if there's a better option than ipl go for that because if you're talking facial hair and if it's course it'll probably not work

Electrolysis is pretty painful, according to several friends that have it. It takes a very long time (can be years of sessions) on a plus side, it will do hair of any colour.

IPL is a lower power version of laser and should work but it will take lots of sessions.

Laser works best on pale skin and dark hair. That's what I'm currently having. I'm due my third session in a couple of weeks and already most of my beard shadow is gone. I always had that dark shadow under the skin no matter how smooth the shave and so I had to use lots of makeup trick to hide it.

Mine is quite patchy but I shave almost til I bleed and no one has said anything about it.

The areas that are clear do hair now are perfectly smooth. Soft and a lovely natural colour. The only effect of having no beard colour is to make me look younger
