What about oral without condoms.... apparently that's how most STIs are passed on according to my two test centres yet few say much about it. Everyone on here plays Russian Rulette just some think their way is safer.

Remember, condoms - one of the protection options - isn't 100% effective and thus not safe. People who always use condoms will have frequently picked up infections that they're not been tested for. Education is really important, so that you can understand the risks and take action accordingly

Russian roulette is a game of death were you have a 1 in 6 chance of dying.

It is not a good metaphor for bareback sex.

Odds of dying from bareback sex are incredibly low. More chance of dying in a car on my way to work each morning.

For those asking about condoms for oral, yep that would also reduce risks, but bareback penetration is riskier than bare oral.

Risk is a balance of the chance of something happening against the impact of something happening.

Oral does pass on STIs but most are low impact, STI's by bareback penetration include all those same risks plus.

So whilst it is disingenuous to equate bareback penetration to Russian roulette, it is equally disingenuous to compare bare oral risks to bareback penetration risks.

My point is saying something is risky is not a qualified statement. Risky Compared to what? without stating the odds it is not a clearly defined risk it's just scaremongering.

Of the 1730 and the 186,189 casualties, how many were victims because they chose to take a risk, in comparison to the 420,000 who were diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease? I'd hazard a guess it's a huge difference, as most of them made a choice not to use protection.

Statistics can be presented in any fashion to argue any point.

But to be honest, unless someone is trying to fuck us bareback, we don't give a toss what others do. That's what a democracy is about, to be able to make a choice, and we're not going to bash them for making the choices they are allowed to, and within their right to make.

- The figure is understated, there are many who do not know

- There are many that sort their own treatment, through other mines via online health care supplies

- Certain STI's are becoming increasingly resistant to the standard non specific antibiotics

- The stats don't show the shift, and the risk that increasingly it is now possible that some STD's could become untreatable. A Harvard educated doctor of alternative's to antibiotics is very clear that drug companies have peverse incentives for development of new drugs that deal with specific STD's....upshot, lesser chance of new treatments

All this means that whilst the 'Big one" seems a slim chance, the real impact of what seem like innocuous STD's is becoming more severe, and presents a greater risk to everyone who considers BB something they want to enjoy.

Imagine sitting down with a partner in 5 years time wanting to settle down to find increased risk of infertility, other unwanted symptoms of STD's.
