It doesn't mean the same for everyone, that's the confusing bit. Some save kissing and penetration for their own partners etc.

We just thought it was couples in the same room watching each other

But now we have been corrected for it apparently means everything but penetrative sex

Still, soft swing is not for us as we like everything before penetrative sex and then penetrative sex

What does it mean to you OP? You set the limits you wish to go to in any sexual encounter, even with your own partner.

To us it would generally mean all foreplay is a group activity, but penetration with own partner only. Works fine for couples meeting couples, gets complicated when odd numbers are involved.

Our generic expectation of soft swing is everything up to the point where you would put a condom on, that bit you do in the same space but with your own partner.

But the key to successful swinging full or soft is communication, even full swing couples will have different ideas of what is involved / acceptable / horny. And what's more the foundations of many of those rules are in jelly.
