Hi all, new to the male grooming side of making myself presentable, and wondering if there are any tips on the shaving rash I seem to keep on getting a day or two after shaving down there...have tried moisturisers etc after shaving, but still have a rash appear.... any tips???

Baldy uses electric clippers up too and very down below and apart from the very rare ingrown hair finds this the best combo.

Do you wear trunk pants as if they are close fitting the fabric ten ds to grab hold of the short hairs as they grow back causing ingrowers and spots.

Hubby moisturises straight after shaving he says that seems to help

Stop shaving with a razor and invest in a body groomer! Phillips ones are good!

Then use some cream.

Sharp razor, hot bath, lots of moisturising shaving gel, don't go over too many times, cold water after, moisturiser, try to avoid anything elasticated on in the first couple hours. Sometimes I forget and stings like a fucker. Keep applying moisturiser

I used to get the rash. I read an article that said use an uncented shaving foam, only shave the way the hairs grow, and do it EVERY day,and you won't get anymore rashes. It's true! Never had a rash since x

I'm having laser on my face at the moment. It's expensive. Nearly £200 a session.

I'll get to my lower areas once I've sorted my face out.

Personally i don't bother with all the moisturizers, I just seemed to gradually get used to it. Use a female razor, doesn't cut quiiite as slow so you have a much reduced chance of in growing hairs and irritation.. Easiest purchase I made. For me the issue was using standard male razors, theyre "too good".

I get stubble trouble. Not on my bits though, weirdly. I get rash on my neck/throat after shaving. It's naturally curly hair... I looked into it and found foil type electrics best. Black ppl use them because they get problems because their hair is prone to ingrow. I bought a Braun shaver that was recommended for black fellas. Pubic hair is also prone to it because very curly hairs want to turn back on themselves.

Use shaving oil and also shaving soap. A good sharp blade and gently shave following the way the hair grows. Usually down. Once shaven use an aloe Vera based aftershave cream.

Make sure skin has been well wetted; soaked and washed; hair soft.

Best done in the shower, do you can keep rinsing

Use plenty of good shaving cream ( there is a good one specially for black guys; because their hair is usually curly and quite strong, this stuff is more softening). Don't use the minty astringent stuff. Hair conditioner works quite well, too.

Use a new razor. Used ones dont cut so cleanly.

Keep making sure there is plenty of cream/foam and keep re-applying it.

After shaving, wash really well, best using one of the " moisturising/ cream/ sensitive skin" shower geeks, rather than a purely soapy one; dry your bits throughly. Dont wear clothes ( especially underwear) for a good half hour afterwards, at least.

A moisturiser helps.

If you get really rashy/spotty; rub savlon on your bits.

You will also find that if you shave regularly, your skin gets used to it.

Other half uses veet cream.

Leaves it on for about 6 minutes then removes the hair with a sponge.

Everything comes off, no rash, no burning and hair free for a good couple of weeks.

There are two different ones, blue or pink, so buy both and try just a little spot first to make sure you don't have a reaction.

Tried cream, didn't react well. Went back to razor and no problems. As people say, a new one, multi bladed, wash before, moisturise after, go with the direction of growth, and take your time. There is nothing quite like that smooth feeling.

I ve shave there for many years and shaved in the same way as my face...with oils. A few drops of Argon oil with glycerine (oil), rub into area then plenty of warm water so everything expands and swells and always use a new/newish blade. I never use soap or foam....another option is use hair removal cream...With aloa vera. Do not leave it on more than stated and then remove in the shower with the platinum scraper....works very well too.

I shave everyday and I never get a rash. There is a cream called Erasurethat is good to use when you're shaving, or you can use a little bit of conditioner.

I just shave in the shower.

Fragrance free body lotion is what I use after shaving in the shower.Use a Gillette Venus disposable razor ith lady shave gel from the supermarket.only shaving rash I have had was on my bum cheeks.
