Hi, we've been on here for about 9 months or so with still no meet. We've chatted to some guys, which seemed to be pretty decent to be honest but quite a few of them seem to just come and go? As in they start to go quiet before deleting their profile shortly after.

Just wondering if anybody had any tips to spotting the fakes me and Sean have read about so much on here? We're planning a night out in Derby in the next week or so and don't want it to be another failed attempt and get let down.

There are of course very many threads on this subject.

All I can really say is trust your instincts, give time to your search, use the Webb cam option to verify the person. Seems lots of couples are looking for single males and it seems they do the searching.

Even the well verified flake on you if someone easier pops up!

You can do a Google image search on pics which can help spot if they've been taken off the internet, fake pics is an indicator but until your actually face to face you just never know if someone is going to go through with a meet or not. If they delete account I'd say it's more a case of cold feet...

Thanks for all of your advice which we will definitely take on board. Cold feet is also what we thought on a few occasions or they've bumped into somebody they know etc... but noticed the same profile picture pop back up a few months down the line??

Also verified in the past few months so you know there active .

Can tell my the language people use two, a lot of guys pretending to be a couple won't refer to themselves as "we" for example can we see face pics etc . It's always I like this or can I etcetc

Pictures to are a good give away, no pictures together on a couples profile just a pic of each of them in different settings scenarios etc

Also those veris that say " I met such and such before on an old profile" or " I have known suck and such for a long time etc etc blah blah " set alarm bells ring for us !!!

Check the verries carefully and dates of meets..3 years last meet hmmm

Usually find 1 verri with exactly the same distance as the guy contacting or a no view profile.

Like training for GCHQ spotting and desphering cryptic messages...

If they're too good to be true then they usually are, sadly. Especially if they've only recently joined the site and have surprisingly good and porn-star explicit photos.

Google image search and tineye can help out the downloaded pics. The green flag seems to mean little as a lot of fakes we come across have been photo verified. Verifications again can be falsified so try and follow them back to see who's written them and what verifications they have.

A local newbie joined recently at the exact same time as someone else and just so happened to meet them and verify each other, all in the space of 3 hours. Google image search shot them both down.

If you're looking to meet them, a quick cam chat or even just asking for a face pic where they're doing something specific like touching their nose or holding a banana can help out the fakes. That doesn't mean they're not then going to vanish on you but at least you're likely to have know what you're talking to.

It's a difficult one no matter what you are looking for.

I tend to go with "gut feel" based on what they say.

The problem to this whole internet dating/meeting/hook up/socialising/chatting (delete as applicable) is that normal human communication uses body language, facial expressions, voice, mannerisms and so on which makes up for a lot of what we read/transmit when talking with others, and we use as cues when communicating.

But none of those extra sources of information are available to us using the internet (it's why we invented smilies ) so you are left with just the visual clues in their words they type.

I'm not a lover of Internet communications and always prefer face to face for this very reason.

Unfortunately fake profile are on the increase but I have to say Admin have been very good at deleting the ones in my area. Spotting them has become more difficult as some are verified , as stated earlier go with your gut instinct , they usually work

May I just add something to this thread.

Although I am not verified with a face picture with FAB on, I am verified with a few meets and repeat meets.

But if any of your verifications are from people you have had an actual meet with decide to delete there profile then that verified meet you had disappears.

Then for all intense and purposes it looks like you haven't had any meets or very little..... Unless I am wrong

Ive reported 2 single men profiles this week for having pictures theyed taken off the internet and one 2 weeks ago... theyre all still here using same pics!

One said but it looks just like my twin cock so why shouldn't I use it, I want to be private!

Another said but I have those exact same shorts and loafers so it's just the same as being me!

The next said someone else accused me of that, do you want references... he's now started to add in a few that look genuine, surprisingly they don't have the same tattoos!

In these cases admin apparently don't think there's anything wrong with fake pics.

That has happened to us I think a lot of guys just do it so they can have a quite wank ,others because they are married and chicken out at last minute so now we arrange to meet guys at the club we use , if they don't turn up there are always plenty horny guys to take thier place ??

I don't think what you're talking about are necessarily fakes, we find a lot of single guys come and go from the site, either get fed up with it or meet someone and decide to give that a good go. They often come back later. Doesn't make them fake. Then you get the ones who like the fantasy but can't quite make the move into reality. I wouldn't call then fakes or timewasters either. It can be irksome though if you think you're going to meet and they disappear.

As far as finding the genuine guys, as others have said Google image search helps. Check their veris, if they only have a small number and they in turn have only been verified by that guy start wondering about that. Webcam chat will help you confirm they are who they say they are but be wary of someone trying to fob you off with a video. We had a guy try it with us, was pretty laughable really.

We try and chat and get a feel for people, our gut serves us pretty well. And I think someone talked about conversations where a couples profile uses I rather than We a lot. Guilty! I do it all the time. I will make reference to G likes this, we enjoy that but as I'm the one playing with the third party and having the chat it comes more naturally to say I. I'm pretty certain we're not fake

The veri will be deleted but there will still be the label "Verified by 10 couples, 4 women.. The last one 5months ago. Etc"

Most of the fakes I've come across are really obvious but some people go to extreme lengths to make a fake profile and are quite expert at it.

I usually chat on the phone which will confirm they're not a fella and you can usually tell if they're the kind of person you get on with.

Other than that it's just a case of arranging a meet.

Would imagine the fact you've been on the site 9 months and haven't yet been verified yourselves isn't helping matters for you either, a lot of people will dismiss you too as fakes just for that simple fact unfortunately.

You are seeking a very specific scenario , and as you say you are not yet verified which will set alarm bells ringing for most people on here . A couple who haven't met anyone in nine months doesn't bear well with most .

I would arrange a social meet and get yourselves meet verified . This should open a few doors .

We love to meet guys who are up for a night out too , with lots of flirting and so on . But they are hard to find , and many don't want to be seen out in town with a couple . Which is understandable , but not an impossible scenario . We generally find vanilla guys are more up for this than swinger guys .

Maybe not, but in a couple of hours sitting at the bar, chatting to the staff, you are verified.

When it is so simple lots of people will avoid those who can't / won't do it.
