If a message is deleted before it has been read then would the sender see a deleted message or an unread message?

I know ladies get silly amounts of messages so it would be easy for mine to get buried but if the message has been deleted, how would i know?

This site works best if you delete the contents of your outbox when you send messages so that you don't torture yourself over messages being read or not.

This is excellent advice...at least until your skin thickens. Then you can use deleted/unread to hone your messaging skills.

many get so many messages they just bulk delete if you've got your eye on someone just say hi again they may get it the next time and reply ,good luck

if we been away from site for few days .it can take a while to read all messages so some will go on a clear out delete.saying that when we go through day today we ans every one that is good enough to bother to message us.

If a message is deleted without a reply simple solution is to block the profile, using the block button as a filter, then they won't pop up in your searches, and delete the message at your end, don't spend time worrying if they haven't read and just deleted, move on!

Think you'll see a deleted message. You can send me one and I'll delete without opening to confirm if you want.

If a message is read and deleted, it is shown as Deleted.

Message unread and deleted, it is shown as Deleted.

If a message is read but they choose to mark it as unread, it is shown as Unread.

If a message is read but left in their mailbox, it will show as read.

So basically you will have no idea if the message has been read or not so don't worry about is, as mentioned above, send your message then delete your sent messages. Getting the reply if what matters.

It's good advice and i usually do just that.

What I'm talking about though is when I'm mid conversation with someone so i am definitely expecting a reply.

That's confirmed. A message that has been deleted without being read still comes up as deleted.

So if it is showing unread it is either been read and marked as unread or it's been buried in other messages.

I can't speak for others but if i have a question i usually search the forums and find an answer instead of creating a new thread. lots of advice i find isn't directed at me but i find it useful anyway, that what i meant.

If the message is read it show as White on your sent message but it will say if it has been deleted if not red it shows as yellow but will still have deleted next to it if it is
