We have been on the scene almost 18 year now on this site and others, never caught anything yet although we are careful.

Common sense and using a condom is the best way to go.

When I was on here in before 2014. I was always getting checked ( clear - dodged that bullet lol ) and collecting my free condoms from the clinic. I have a sweet little face if I say so myself. One day using my sweet little face to plead I walked out with over 300+ quality condoms and packs of lube. She even searched and got me a supply of big boy condoms ! Ive still got most in a bag in a cupboard as I met my partner (now ex) shortly after ....... hmmm wonder if they are still in date ? X

Funny - yesterday I posted to a thread discussing the most horrible photos on Fab. I noted the many, many photos of cocks and pussies that display recent, or historic evidence of, and in some cases quite extensive, STDs. I guess from my respective this is a peril of having worked professionally in the area. Nevertheless it never fails to surprise me how people are unaware of what their photos show.

And just for the record condoms provide limited protection from HPV, the causative agent of genital warts. However, there are several effective vaccines available from the doctor or clinics that significantly reduce your chances of getting it. Google "Gardasil" for details.

Genital warts can be passed when using a condom. Testicles, thighs, bum cheeks.......

You can still get them using condom. It's skin to skin contact how you get genital warts.

best thing to remember is STI/GUM clinics do not check for everything, only the stuff that will kill you if you don't get it sorted. so no matter how many times anyone says they're clean you cannot guarantee that and neither can they. seeing as they never get tested for everything.

just keep on top of your own health.

sure some genital diseases look awful and it's kinda sad if you get those, but they're not the ones that will kill you. the ones that will you probably won't have any symptoms for and need to get checked for those.

as far as I'm aware gardisil is only offered to girls age 12 to 13 in the UK as a preventative measure for some types of cervical cancer and only protects against a very few of the HPV viruses that cause genital warts.

I got chlamydia from my very first boyfriend. Was a virgin up to that point and used condoms until we were in a serious relationship. Neither of us had any symptons. Was only picked up because I decided I was going to be responsible for my own sexual health. Many people have never been tested and have the attitude that it won't happen to them, then go and have a d*unked shag. God knows what they may catch. If you are old enough to have sex you are old enough to get tested and be responsible for your own sexual health.

Yep - you won't get it for free I'm afraid - it's not offered to adults, but you can buy it. It protects against HPV6 and HPV11 - both of which cause genital warts.

Me & Kim have full tests /certs every 28 days & have our HEP A & B up to date, we shoot bareback with other certed adult workers but always use condoms when swinging.

Only a fraction of swingers ever get regularly tested so them odds are too high risk to take a chance with.

We have been doing this for 20 years without a STI...yet, "nobody is infallible" no matter how safe you are but condoms & regular GUM visits do help.

That very much depends on what you say when you visit the gum clinic.

We always say we are swingers who meet random people for sex.

We also tell them we do not always use condoms as this means they then run the full tests every time. Even if we have not had a meet since the last test

Many people who go to clinics say they only have occasional meets and always use condoms, the clinics then take the view they are low risk and cut down on what they test for.

I went to the clinic two weeks ago for my routine screening and for the first time I let them do my blood test (I am horrifically phobic of needles) so I was super proud of myself. I went last night for the first of my three Hep B vaccines and am back next week for the second. Three weeks after that I will have the third, then two months later another blood test.

I have been lucky because I have never had an STI, bur then I suppose it is actually less luck and more being a sexually responsible adult

Anyone who has ever had a coldsore in the past or a current breakout can give you genital herpes...

Theres two types of genital herpes, one thats caught from open genital herpes sores during intercourse and one from coldsores during oral sex, same virus.

I recently went through the three HepB vaccinations followed by the test two months later and the antigen showed no sign of being present. I went through the whole thing again (working helping homeless, required for role) and the second time it showed no sign. The GUM clinic are puzzled, it would seem my body just ignores the vaccine ?

Also, I uses to use Durex feather light, rather painful fit, but I knew no better as there is little advice around. One split, chlamydia found, I go to the GUM clinic every two months ... How's your luck ?

I asked the clinic for advice and she suggested Skyns large. Pity nobody does fittings as women get in bra shops

Very glad to see a couple here have raised the Hepatitis vaccine issue. I've raised in my local forum a few times and was surprised at the response. It's a MUST for all swingers and very surprised at how few actually have it.

A note on cold sores.... the most effective treatment is use of marmite on it. Removes the tingle/ itch immediately and clears it up within days. It's the type of yeast used in it that treats the virus. ( Also only type of yeast that can be consumed by those allergic to yeast without symptoms too). If you include marmite in your diet regularly it apparently will remove the HSV. One can get it again through break in the skin around the mouth area but if marmite is in used regularly in your diet you body most likely will fight it naturally.

Even no sex isn't 100% safe btw.

Never caught anything and been around for 8 years or so. Frequent testing and appropriate choices help - swingers possibly have above average testing and health.

That said, a large percentage of the wider population have caught something and don't know

Trying to diagnose sti's from pictures is very hard. Especially if you are not a professional. Please explain how you come to the conclusion that someone has genital warts as opposed to piles or skin tags? One lady in the North West regularly has what I think are her piles on display on page one of hot pics. However, they maybe genital warts - I'd only trust a sexual health professional to truely diagnose. May as well ask the bin man or your local shop girl to diagnose your health issues.

Definetly not piles because of where they are 'round her arse' not coming from her arse hole and I have a skin tag on my neck so I'm aware of what they look like. It's a close up pic and they're very visable. Fair point I'm not a health professional but I am a woman that is fully aware of sti's especially as I enjoy this lifestyle.

"

Fuck I'm not getting any of these references and we can't name and shame either

No the virus 'sheds' and can do so without symptoms. It can simply be passed on by contact

"Whats peoples experiance with sti and infections on this site always try and practice safe sex but you never know

There was a pic on the top of hot photos page 2 about a month ago of a close -up vagina. She clearly had 2 large genital warts - and yet the pic had over 400 fabs! either guys don't care or they haven't a clue what to look out for!

I contemplated messaging her to let her know - but didn't fancy risking any abuse!

Not sure if it's same female but there's one on there that has warts round her arse!

On her profile openly admits to having 6 cocks cum in her in 1 night, has DP bareback pics and did state 'safe sex'

Trying to diagnose sti's from pictures is very hard. Especially if you are not a professional. Please explain how you come to the conclusion that someone has genital warts as opposed to piles or skin tags? Doesnt make you remotely qualified to diagnose someone's health issue. "

No it doesn't make anyone whose only seen a pic remotely qualified to diagnose but they can have an opinion, I can share that opinion as long as no names have been shared!

I'm not the only person ever to comment negatively on someone's pic, I think there's a couple of people already commented before me about someone else's pic .........

shouldn't worry you can cure any disease with a cup of tea with half a tea spoon of honey and some lemon in it.

And just for the record condoms provide limited protection from HPV, the causative agent of genital warts. However, there are several effective vaccines available from the doctor or clinics that significantly reduce your chances of getting it. Google "Gardasil" for details.

as far as I'm aware gardisil is only offered to girls age 12 to 13 in the UK as a preventative measure for some types of cervical cancer and only protects against a very few of the HPV viruses that cause genital warts.

And is best given before they become sexually active. The only safe sex is no sex."

Gardasil recommends any women up to the age of 45 to have the hvp vaccine. So the NHS saying it should only be given to women before having sex is a fallacy (it's because they don't want to spend the money on women over the age of 18!). In fact, it can actually reduce the recurrence of those HVP variants of previously diagnosed women and even help to guard against some other HPV variants, which have similar genes.

"When I was on here in before 2014. X"

Was this private or good old nhs?

No not really. Some of us still have the same values after a few drinks. If you get so pissed that you want to risk your sexual health for a random shag then be prepared to live with any consequences. "

Including compromising your playmates' health

You miss the point. Someone with a herpes one outbreak can't give you herpes two, and vice-verse

Every sexually active person that plays outside of totally monogamous relationship would be acting sensibly if they had a periodic sexual health screening many people have sti's and don't know it. And condoms offer little protection against most sti infections.

This...x100.

I would never risk anything just because I was d*unk. I always carry condoms with me and don't get intoxicated at swingers clubs.

When I have had sex after a regular night out and have been d*unk....I've still used a condom.

Apparently that clinic gets all the funding, it looks like a hair salon and they test on site I walked in there and was out in under 30mins including registering

How long does the whole testing thing take? I'm going to a walk in clinic next Friday. I plan on having the full range of STI tests that they have. I assume that's swabs of genital area and bloodwork?

I use the SWISH clinic in Taunton for my regular checks, and got my last all clear results in 4 days!

Takes maybe ten mins. Will include a urine sample, so be prepared! Note that your H.I.V. status will be as at four weeks prior to the samples being taken. There's a four-week "incubation" period for the N.H.S. H.I.V. test
