Hi I just want a bit of advice really from people who have been circumcised. I'm considering having it done for health reasons and just want to know what the process is like? As in, do you decide or do you you have to convince a doctor? And also how different does sex feel? Bjs, masturbation etc. So I only want to hear from people who have had it done since being grown up as I want to know how it affected you. Thanks in advance

Oh my god! I haven't been to the doctors, I've researched my problem and circumcision could be an option. I was just after advice not a fucking interrogation!!

excuse me but why do you feel it appropriate to act like that towards someone who was just after some friendly advice about something I find quite hard to talk to someone face to face about? If you don't have friendly, useful advice without being abusive for absolutely no reason whatsoever then I kindly ask you to not talk on this thread at all

apologies. its hard to give advice without having the information needed to be fully aware of the circumstances. Your response was abusive in the first instance. The advice remains the same though. If you feel that you have a medical issue which necessitates a surgical procedure, only your GP can refer you to a surgeon and only they will know what kind of surgical intervention is being supported in yoyr area. Unless your problem is if a nature to need surgery, no amount of internet research will suffice to persuade them that you need surgery. Make an appointment, be clear about what your issues are and I hop you get the right medical outcome

Phimosis?

Been there. Before and after. Not a fun thing to have done, but TOTALLY worth it.

My relationship, and my partner changed massively, after he had it done. He wasnt insecure any more, and sex felt more intense for him. He actually had to practice delaying ejaculation, because he'd always had a tight foreskin to numb the sensations, but that's hardly a downside! He said it was like discovering sex properly, for the first time.

Sex was always a disappointment to him, because of his phimosis. He had a fortnight of recovery, then literally NEVER LOOKED BACK.

Be brave, matey. Bite the bullet and get it done. You'll wish you had, years ago.

For those of you who don't know what phimosis is, this picture in this link explains it perfectly, without showing a penis!

Yeah, I developed Phimosis when I was about 17. I'd never noticed it was a problem then one day woke up with some discomfort. Then it just got worse, fearing my dick was going to fall off I went to my GP and he told me he didn't think much was wrong but sent me to a urologist who took all of 5 seconds looking at it, told me what it was and said that due to it's severity I was well passed treating it with steroid creams and that he'd recommend lopping it off sooner rather than later.

Cut to 4 weeks later and I was missing my foreskin.

It was a brutal healing process, you have stiches around your glans and for the first few nights your body will not give a fuck about 4am morning glory boners and you will wake in pain. The recovery is awkward but eventually the stiches will dissolve and you'll be left with little visible evidence they were there.

As mentioned your sensitivity will be through the roof for some time, expect lots of no reason boners because you just happened to be walking and your boxers rubbed against you. It takes time and practice to get used to it.

It's a decision that cannot be undone so I wouldn't go into it so lightly.

I had a tight foreskin removed and have regretted it ever since. Just as well I never wanted kids as I cannot fuck to orgasm since the op. I believe that with exercising the foreskin could have been stretched to allow it to retract. However will now never know and have had a shit sex life for 40 years.

Good luck but be careful in your decision.

There is another option. I started getting phimosis issues when I was 18 and had just got together with P. We had a lot of sex, and it hurt me regularly to the point I had to stop.

I went to a doctor and honestly said I could not stomach a circumcision because I have enjoyed the sensitivity of my glans for years. So they offered me a prepuceplasty and frenuloplasty. I won't detail here, its quite a minor procedure that loosens both the tight band of foreskin that gets over-stretched and severs the tissue connecting the foreskin and glans. However recovery took me a very long time (5 weeks) but it works an absolutely treat and I have only the tiniest aesthetic change.

I was amazed by how many times the doctors and surgeons tried to push me into getting a circumcision instead! That's the NHS for you.

It was yes. But I really had to stress in the various consultations I had with urologists and surgeons that getting the prepuceplasty was my only choice (I may have said something about knowing people who had the full circumcision and hated the new feeling, albeit not from personal friends). The surgeon said there's always a chance that the new scar tissue will become too tight, but with the frenuloplasty as well it never has.

I am sorry for you if a tight foreskin is the problem. I met up with a guy from here regularly some time ago who had one and he couldn't expose the head of his penis. It caused him severe pain if it accidentally got pushed down part-way. (It also meant that he accumulated cheesy stuff under the skin which put me off performing a BJ). I understand that with patience, the skin can be stretched sufficiently to make it comfortable. I would be wary of surgery unless it was absolutely necessary.

easy tiger you asked for advice , I see nothing wrong with wanting to know more before giving informative advice,

you do need to see a doctor as if you are having trouble then the doctor is the only way to get an opp appointment or to see a specialist,

if he says it needs doing I don't see you have a choice, I wouldn't wait any longer as your health is more important than what sex might feel like after the opp
