Anyone used it? Does it actually work?

I've been using it for nearly four weeks now and I'm not convinced there's any difference.

There's a lot of discussion about the merits of Vaniqa. Some swear by it and others say it's just a smelly, useless and expensive muck.

There is also a lot of controversy about the prescribing of it by GP's because it is so unproven. Most CCG's have marked it as restricted item for this reason.

To be honest, feminising hormones do the best job on slowing hair growth, but I do not know if you have taken that step yet. This, backed up with LASER or electro is the only real option. Vaniqa is only a temporary solution and the effects, if there are any, cease very shorlty after stopping it.

Hope this helps, PM if you wanted any more guidance.

I saw the heading and thought somebody had mis-spelt vagina.

Just popped in out of curiosity...I'm off again now!

I use it...It takes a few months to show results and you must use it twice daily...It works on about 80 per cent of women, I am two month into it and its slowing down my need to shave...

Hormones do not remove facial hair, but they can reduce or make finer the hair on body and legs

After thought... Vaniqa is very expenseive, there is a cheap alternative which I have not tried and unlike Vaniqa which you can only get via prescription you can buy it over the counter at Boots the chemist, its called Inhibuter or something like that around seven pounds wereas Vaniqa can cost up to 80 pounds

I did think of looking for things with the active ingredient in as it's cost over seventy pounds just for this part of the prescription.

go to the Asda chemists its about 15 pounds cheaper a tube, thats the 60 gram tube..

I get mine via private prescription as Docs rarely give it via NHS to we Trans due to the cost of vaniqa

I'm guessing that contains a lower percentage of eflornithine hydrochloride as its an over the counter one?
