We are very sociable people usually but find ourselves avoiding making conversation with other couples when we in a club in case they ask us to go further and we don't feel the connection with them.

How do we deal with turning someone down without causing offence and remaining friendly?

The only way is to be honest without being rude (which you wouldn't be I'm sure).

Just smile and say "no thank you" if you say something like "not at the moment" you're leaving the door open for them to ask again at some point.

Indeed just politely say that they arnt your type. Just because we talk to people at a club, dosnt meen we expect to fuck them all, most of people on our friends list are people we met got on with but didn't play with.

We'll quite happily chat with couples that we don't necessarily want to play with in clubs. We do so on the basis that either side can turn the other down without having to justify the decision.

Just a friendly 'no thank you' is acceptable. If they get awkward about it just move away

OP. I talk to most people in clubs. It doesn't mean for one second I want to play with them. I also come across a few that won't speak to me. Maybe because they assume I want to play with them.

I don't know if there is an attraction without speaking to them first personally. If asked and I am not interested I just say no thank you. No one has taken offence.

It's the totally British thing to avoid potential awkwardness Pretty well everyone on Fab expects to get knocked back at some point so don't worry about putting people out

Just say your fine at the moment thankyou.

Anyone with half a brain will understand you're not interested in playing with them.

As a single guy, I wish there was a sign above my head, which says "I just want a decent conversation", so I could approach people sociably, without them assuming I'll try and get into their knickers.

You can see the "urgh, here we go again" on couples faces, before you even say hello.

It's easy, just politely decline. We always have hopefuls chatting to us on the chance that we will play, but a polite no thanks always works.
