Nail varnish won't dry!

I'm trying to dry a colour changing glitter varnish. Got it on my fingers and toes and have zapped it with my uv box over and again but it's still sticky.

Why won't it cure!???

Drops of almond oil. Or Avon do a quick drying spray thing; I got 3 bottles on Amazon and haven't even got through one yet. I am not feminine or patient enough to do my nails very often (I only just cut them really short because their clacking on a keyboard annoyed me) and so when I do I can't be arsed to lose a whole evening waiting for the various stages to dry. So I cheat. It works.

Have you used it before? You might have a faulty bottle.

I use a spray or a sally Hansen brush on nail dry

but its probably all that glittery crap that's stopping it

It's about a year old.

No almond oil and no shops in reach! I have toe separators in.

Hope its not shellac. Will take 5 times longer to get off than it will take to get on

Dip your nails in cold water.

Use ice water. Nail polish dries when it encounters cool temperatures, so try freeze-drying your polish in place by using ice water. Before painting your nails, fill a bowl with cold water and some ice cubes. Straight after painting your nails, submerge your nails in the icy water for 2-3 minutes.

Hope this helps.... found on pintrest

It's a uv gel so not sure if iced water would work on it?

It's a bitch to dry but it looks so pro.

If you are using a specific gel type nail varnish (one that's cured under uv) you should be wiping the sticky residue off with "gel inhibition remover" or something of that ilk..

Is it definitely uv curable bail varnish?

Also shellac/gel is sticky after its cured. That is why you use finishing wipe to take the tack off and make it shine.

"Good luck getting the bugger off !!"

Discs cotton wool pads in acetone nail varnish remover, put them on the nails and wrap in pieces of tin foil. Leave on for 10-15 mins and user a cuticle pusher to scrap it off. Works every time for me.

You should only put it under a uv light if it needs curing.normal Polish doesn't. If it's uv based it's normal that you need an additional product to wipe of the sticky residue with. Trained nail tech, but I don't do it as a job, the product name has escaped me.

I'm a nail tech, all gel polishes have a tacky layer you have to remove with an alcohol wipe

Im a nail tech too

If its definately gel polish then a) it may have cured and the sticky layer is normal (wipe as suggested above)

b) your lamp/bulb is knackered
