How can you avoid timewasters

When you exchanged lots of messages, chat to them earlier in the day to verify they are an actual female. Make plans to meet later on in the day, and then don't reply the rest of the day despite being online on whatsapp?!

The bad luck of 2017 continues

It happens to most of us at some point. Next.

Sadly there will always be time wasters who are only here to get their egos rubbed but keep trying you'll soon be able to spot them

Record from 2017 from online dating apps/ sites

2 people - agreeing to meet then just not replying on the day after talking for a long period

2 people agreeing to meet then saying ' sorry I've met someone else since messaging you' ( less annoyed by this)

1 person agreeing to meet then saying 'sorry my bf and I are going to try again'

It's already like goldust trying to find someone that can hold a conversation. But this is just getting ridiculous

I've been using sites for years yet it's pretty hard to assume that someone who has a genuine interest in what I do and interests I have that match theirs. Only for them to just go cold all of a sudden to become a time waster

It happens. It's annoying but you've got to accept it as part of the online game. If you can't handle it, go to clubs

A meet is not a meet till they are standing in front of you. Always have a safety net in place, just tell the other person the situation and then there is no dramas. It's what I do

Just cos your interests match doesn't mean you will necessarily be compatable. Maybe you said something that turned them off or made them think twice about meeting you. That doesn't make them a timewaster. Everyone is entitled to have second thoughts or decide someone is not for them.

Sadly time wasters are part of the game on here, best idea, block them and move on. Its their loss...Good luck in the future..

This is why I don't bother with sourcing "meets" online anymore. Sooooo many excuses - dead grandma, car troubles, wife found out, child in car crash, dog had epileptic fit etc etc. It is easier to just see who is there at a club - at least the guys at a club turned up, right?!

Chatting for days/weeks/months doesn't mean a meet will happen.

I've had many a club visit end in absolutely nothing but my meets I arrange here go without too much fuss.

only 2 of those could even be called timewasters..and thats debateable if you hadn't actually gone to meet them...seems to be a word that's very overused ..

"A meet is not a meet till they are standing in front of you. "

This

I've had a couple of fairly lengthy conversations recently that have just stopped abruptly. No reason at all , they've just stopped replying. I find it gets to that point where meeting up is nearing and they just bottle it.

Forget and move on

This exactly! It's so sad that so many Grandma's need to die cos men bottle it.
