Profile picture advice - can't show face on public profile

Hi Fabsters!

I'm looking for some advice on profile photos.

I have a particular job which means I can't show my face publicly on my profile. I can show my face when I send messages because not everybody will be messaging or receiving messages.

As I can't put a face picture as my profile photo, which generally reduces your chances of people messaging back; what advice would give me for a profile photo? Also, what could I do for more profile photos which also can't show my face?

Should I be doing crazy, fun, imaginative things to attract people to my profile?

Thanks

MrAA

We are curious.

What is it you do that means you cannot show your face?

I don't show my face either. It doesn't matter what job you have, if you don't want your face public, don't show it.

A torso pic is ok. Or feet

I don't think not having a face pic as an avatar or in public pics reduces your chances of a reply, generally as long as one is available when you start chatting people understand. Does make me laugh that you say you have to be discreet because of work but have a job title in your user name

Have a selection of pics that show your best bits off, clothed, unclothed, explicit or not, whatever you think best. Suit shots are good , bums, torsos, legs, just not too many cock shots is the received wisdom. Not sure what I make of your second shot, a bit...Avatar is great though.

I've seen very few profiles where s face pic is the profile pic so I really wouldn't worry

We agree totally.

We don't show face pics, but don't feel the need to use a job as the excuse.

Face pics are not required in public by anyone. I don't know why this is often said. Also, I find it irksome when someone thinks they need to be more discreet than others (or me!), but that's an aside. You can put a variety of pics in public. I would suggest they aren't taken from your FB profile. If your job role matches your user name I would think you can apply a little imagination to a suitable profile pic. Most ladies don't like a dick pic to talk to though! My order for my own pics is discreet for public, showing a little more for friends and others in private. Each person has their own preference for this, so that's just guidance.

To be honest, I'm not using it as an excuse, I'd show my face if I was able to. It's generally against the code of practice to be on websites like Fab.

As long as you are able to supply face pics in messages ,thats fine.People tend to understand why you wouldnt have public face pics.

That's fair enough, but no need to make a song and dance about it. Simply put in your profile that you have a face picture in private that you're happy to send if asked, drop the bit about it 'because of my job'.

Without wishing to belabour a point OP, honestly as someone who completely understands, would you think about your profile name? I think I'm right in saying people are trying to say you don't need to proffer an excuse whatsoever, it's a preference.
