So we are in cov, and are contacted by someone who's says, he has just moved to cov, but his profile reads rugley, he says that he just hasnt changed his profile yet, but the gps says he is 30+ miles away home and mobile?

Could be that he hasn't turned his location on so it's not updated on his account but it seems accurate(friends of ours are two miles away and it says 2 miles

Does he say if he is in the kitchen or the bathroom?

Pretty accurate I'd say, had a meet or two with the who's near function

He might be online on a pc or tablet withou gps.

The accurate position is from mobile with location enabled.

Or it could be dodgy. Need to use your sixth senses.

hiding from cock pics.

You can't rely on it accurately. He could be in either location...I have had a similar experience.

Depends if they have their location turned on and updated on their phone.

My husbands says he is 20 miles away, but in fact he is home and in bed after a night shift.

So don't be messaging someone, calling them out about their location as they could well be exactly where they say they are.

If you upgrade to platinum membership you can view through their phone or tablet camera and see where they actually are.

That's the best solution.

Depends on the method used. If they are using GPS, it's fairly accurate (to tens of metres or less). However, you can use your internet connection too. With a static IP this works fine, but most don't have one. It's not as good as GPS and may be why they are showing so far.

Use best judgement.

Have fun!

I would say with mobile use it's pretty accurate as we found a couple in the same pub as us once

Had it on once in a hotel and it said 'within touching distance' for someone!

Slightly creepy!

Sometimes when looking at people near to me the listing is of those around where I work,so it could be that his phone isnt updating his location on Fab.

Nearest I have had is within a quarter of a mile.

'Within touching distance' is kind of cool

Fab can be a bit fickle. Last year after a trip to Cornwall my location swapped between my home in Beds and Cornwall for about a week after.

I often do not have GPS turned on anyway, and I suspect the Fab database had both locations.

If you log in with a device that has GPS turned off, or no GPS then Fab cannot get your current location and will default to somewhere you were recently logged in.
