Hi folks

I need some advise on "face shots"

what i mean is this............

After a few private messages winks etc and a few nice messages (nothing pushy just saying hi) between ourselves and members, when it comes to us sending our face shots (visible in our private gallery) we have always come across "sorry you are not what we are looking for"

Thats fine as everyone has their own tastes and preferences etc but stopping communication after the Face Shot has me concerned. I swear we are not mingers and i admit we may not be Posh&Becks or Brad&Angelena, just a "normal" couple; but why when we start getting along with someone does the communication for the other side stop after the face pic.

The face pic is just of us both at a regular party hugging and smiling at the camera!

what is going on!!??

any advise?

It happens to alot of us, cant begin to fathom the reason. Shouldnt let it bother you though, things can only get better (as the song goes....)

It's happened a lot to us too recently - to the point where it was giving me (Ms) a complex. I thought the face pic of us together was lovely but we got blocked by about 3 couples so one of us must look like an axe murderer!!

it's like dating.. not everyone you talk to is going to end up in a result. You win some, you loose some. The number of people registered as users on here, and the sheer diversity of people of all shapes and flavours is sure to produce a result for everyone before too long... it's just a matter of perseverance. Usually the ones that end up in positive results come through when you least expect it!

Sure there has to be an attraction, but surely the internet is a fantastic way to take that attraction to a different level?

Its true, the brain is the biggest sexual organ. Stimulate that and the visuals are not such a priority

Personally I wouldn't have sex with someone I'm not attracted to. Doesn't matter what form that attraction takes, whether it be mental or physical but there has to be an attraction.

I don't suppose there's any point in continuing a conversation with someone when you don't find them attractive. Whilst it's nice to be nice, not everyone is looking for new friends so I imagine some people want to cut ties and move onto the next possibility.

There are all sorts of people here, we all have different preferences whether it be about age, height, geography etc. I guess we just need to suck it up and move on if someone isn't your cuppa or you aren't theirs. It's not the end of the world, it's the way of the world.

Don't dwell on it but I don't really agree that it seems stupid because we're all here looking for sex rather than a relationship. That implies we shouldn't care who we fuck. I do care and I've never seen Shallow Hal... giving a toss that I fuck those whom I find attractive doesn't make me shallow, it makes me human!

it can be disheartening for that to happen, especially as you may have connected emotionally/ socially with them. as far as i'm concerned, personality should be of utmost importance and i'm sure many here agree. but like it's been said before, the average person on here is only going to be attractive (physically) to around 8% of others(yes, that was a made up figure....but it makes it sound more valid lol). it's just a shame that those people who blocked you didn't have the decency to let you know the reason but tomorrows another day

I think sometimes face shots can be tricky. People usually look better in person in my experience but you have to have something to go by. Maybe face shots taken just for the site in decent lighting would look be a good idea? Hard to say more without seeing them. If you were comfortable enough to send them privately I promise to give an honest and polite answer. Otherwise, dont take it to heart. This is meant to be fun.

You know I actually hate it if I have to ask someone for a face photo.. and then when I get it they are not my type.....

As then I think what if they are feeling like the OP has been putting...

So the thing I would suggest is send out a face shot on the first message.. I have one clear on my profile as that way they know what I look like.. and I dont have to realise that once they saw my face they thought god no.. lol

See that is why I always have my face photo on display.. I know some people cant.. but in that case before I started chatting I would let them have a photo.. that way.. it would seem like all was well till they saw my face..

No one is for all...I had a girl contact me not long ago that was stunning.. but I would have felt uncomfortable with her.. so I refused her for that reason.

I just dont take much personally on here..

Snap - attractive doesn't have to mean traditionally attractive pretty boy, it means attractive to you as an individual. Part of being attractive to me is personality, but I've also got to look at the person and think "wow." That's why I chat for a while first, to make sure that's backed up with something in their head...

I have said many a time that the good thing about this site in particular is the oppertunity to make friends even if you never ever get to "do the nasty"...you dont feel compelled to shag anything that moves just to get your money's worth!

Personally we don't usually have a type, except people who can share a laugh, a conversation and be personable. I'm told I'm good looking, but I don't believe I'm perfect in any way, shape or form. I'm not ugly enough to send people running away screaming, or needing therapy afterwards either (although if you have been affected by this post, there is a helpline you can call, and it's 1-800-uglybastard )... I will openly confess to needing a little perk on the looks department, but the remainder comes from entertaining my mind more, and if I'm not captivated there by someone, all the most impressive bits and pieces in christendom won't move me

we have that problem occasionally too, and for that reason we've stuck a line in about the plasticcyness of the ideal 'ken and barbie' couple....

See the OPs said they were smiling, but we're amazed by some people's face shots - don't they realise a smile makes you look more appealing? We've seen some faces grimacing, looking startled and even a few looking very angry and aggressive, if we get sent any like these, then that's the end of it - no meet!
