Hotel Day rooms

Just read a post on another topic about a website "dayuse" which we have now looked at offering cheaper hotels booked just for say 9am to 5pm at some very attractive rates.

As a couple relying almost exclusively on decent hotels for our meets, together this sounds appealing rather than having to wait till afternoons to get checked in for naughtiness. Have others any experience of this or similar sites?

Most of those are in London so don't bother

Travelodge, for £10 - do either early check in from noon or late check out until noon depending on which you'd prefer

West Midlands

Hotel chains will say not, but you CAN negotiate a day rate with individual sites, we've had 930-230pm bookings before with many of the chains. Equally it can be as easy to book the room the night before (not using it) and extend the checkout to 3pm

Actually there's one in Rugby, just off J18 of the M1 decent room too.

Cost about 45 quid I think

Weve just done several searches for Leeds & Manchester & thrown up several large chain hotels Village/Radisson/Marriott/Doubletree etc all at around £60-£70 per 9am to 5pm including one we often use anyway.

It was more understanding anyone's experience of using the specific day room on-line booking sites as opposed to say just ringing and asking for a day room

There are quite a lot of hotels in Birmingham who offer day rates

I don't really want to be forking out more than £40 for a hotel for these purposes. Air BnB can be quite flexible and bed and breakfasts aren't too bad but I'm never there for the breakfast as I have a 2am curfew!

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

I have used dayroom for hotels a couple of times.

The set up is good as you don't need a deposit and you pay when you check in, so if the other person is a no show, there is no loss.

The hotels themselves are pretty basic commuter hotels, but then what so you want for 40quid, no questions asked.

Birkenhead/Liverpool

There are a couple of websites who will offer you a wide range of hotels for day use usually from 10-4 or 11-5pm.

They ask for VERY basic details and don' check them, so good for those wanting to be discrete. You can pay cash on the day and some hotels don't require you to give a card as security. Exactly the same terms/facilities/standards as with a night time booking.

It's a great service for couples meeting others or singles meeting up and it's not too pricey in the NW area. I've had a lot of our members using this service and love it xx

Northampton Somewhere

I've used 'between 9 and 5' a couple of times with good and bad results. The bad being the booking got muddled up with a sister hotel and the hotel we were at claimed not to have any rooms available

It's worth a telephone call to confirm after making the booking

My favourite way to meet - love a day of relaxed pleasure in a hotel environment.

I use day rooms and it's easy peasy through the website.

Alternatively simply type into your search engine:-

"Hotels offering day rooms in x"

X being the relevant city or town.

It was more understanding anyone's experience of using the specific day room on-line booking sites as opposed to say just ringing and asking for a day room"

Thanks all. Useful info from here and a few private messages that suggest the day-use and 9-5 websites work OK. Very helpful.
