Hi everyone.

Asking for advice on my profile.

Constructive criticism welcome.

You only have my word for it but it is 100 percent genuine.

Obviously there are no public pics so I get that may be a reason but there are many others who don't and seem to have sucsess.

Terrible. Try writing in sentences as opposed to a weird list. Less concentration on your ex. And, yes, unless you include some photos, no chance.

Again thanks.

I'm learning.

I thought being concise and to the point saved droning on.

I got that wrong.

Regarding pics, I have met on here before without having them on my profile.

Been here 3 times.

The first time I had a few public pics and I suddenly received a message off my ex (yes she was my ex at the time) going ballistic, calling me seedy etc and started being difficult with my seeing my son.

The second time I chatted which included my pic and ended up in a meet which was great fun.

Unfortunately that was my first and I had a nervous wobble about whether this was for me.

Now I'm back (as it definitely is).

I'm not particularly desperate to meet although I would of course I am happy just chatting with fun folk and so far I have not had any.

Thanks again folks.

I WILL improve

With the amount of messages that are received....if a profile starts with several "ask and I will tell", I'm afraid the majority just wouldn't bother in my honest opinion. Interesting about your ex going ballistic about your pic being on here....surely that means she was on here too?! Visible pic doesn't need to be your face, but something to entice visually.

Well thanks to everyone who replied it is genuinely appreciated.

Time to think of a better approach.

I am unlikely to put face pics on unless private messaging but I'm sure I can manage other angles.

No cock pics though,I get the impression they are not wanted much.

Haven't got a wide enough lens anyway .

Happy fabbing to you all.

"I assume this was a newbie asking for advice on their profile?

A lot of requests for help from newbies are a waste of time.

Given the number of such threads a little bit of research would help prior to posting as so much of the advice given is generic, and taking up some of the advice that is given on the thread would also be gratifying .

Occasionally somebody does act on the advice but not very often it seems...

Phew finally get to post on here.

Well a little hurt by the dodged a bullet comment but I'm a sensible guy and respect opinions.

I'm still thankful for the constructive criticism.

I disappeared because I felt that after having such a shocking profile it would be a little weird to just change stuff to suit.

Personally I think it would have made me appear desperate which I am most assuredly not.

Hence I started a new profile.(I only had a few days left anyway).

I'm pretty sure my new profile is just as bad.

I guess it just isn't my strong point.

Anyway regarding pics I still have little confidence in this sites security so will continue to save my face pic for messages.

It would be fair to say that many women do the same without issue which I totally get by the way so I'm not complaining.

Anyway just saying thanks again for the advice and no offence is taken at the slightly cruel remarks.(I only cried for a bit

. Big love x

It was because I assumed people local would know it was the same guy trying to change to much.

It just felt odd to me.

Also my assumption is correct yet I have read many profiles worse than mine.(which I think although not fantastic, is pretty non threatening wich reflects my nature.)

These guys just have cock pics and 6 packs (of course a favourite of the shallow) and yet many varies.

Thanks for the reply.

you assume quite a lot...especially where you say there are worse profiles than yours..

You don't have to show your face to have good pictures. So many have proved that already on here. Just a pair of eyes staring back, is not liable to get many responding, if I'm honest. It's a bit like shooting yourself in the foot. I know you have issues with privacy. But honestly, what can someone do with a chest pic? Unless you have your name and address tattooed on it, or recognisable features, it could be anybody's chest. If you are hoping to meet, you really do need a bit of an overhaul I'm afraid x

So flaimhaired has hidden their profile.

Your opinion no longer counts.

Rubyroo

Regarding spelling and grammar, I didn't realise this was a school exam!(please feel free to correct my shocking English.)

If you think spelling and grammar are a sign of intellect then I wonder how I got where I got today.

Pippin there are photos, look harder.

Also, the majority of women on here know they have the upper hand due to the sheer numbers of males compared to females.

Now whilst I don't gave an issue with that in the slightest.

What I do have an issue with is arrogant rude individuals who abuse their power.

For example not replying to non threatening polite messages where a pic is attached with so much as a no thank you.

On top of that demanding face pics on profiles when theirs are either hidden or non existent.

Personally I respect people's opinions but I don't respect Arrogance and rudeness.

The sad fact is that the real gentlemen on here have to suffer these attitudes because of the idiots who are abusive when rejected.

Sorry for the rant but I simply can't bear double standards.

Thank you all for your input, It's much appreciated.

Good luck a safe play to you all.

My profile is not up for discussion and whether it is hidden or not is not an issue. You have asked for advice, you clearly don't like what you have heard and you're upset someone with a hidden profile has commented.

I look for certain things when I'm meeting, I have given you my opinion so like it or not, my opinion is valid as you asked of it and I am what you are trying to appeal to, am I not (female users that is?)

Not replying is not an abuse of power.

It is just plain ignorant and rude.

Understandable if the message received is abusive, otherwise there is really no excuse I'm afraid.

I'm not going to get into an argument over such trivial things such as correct grammar.

So far only two people have given a proper critique as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not trying to get into an argument either - you asked for constructive criticism, my understanding of that is you wanted suggestions of how to improve the responses you were getting. For me, public photos and correct spelling would improve your profile. I didn't get past the first two lines. You are free to disagree or to decide my view is not one you want to take into account, but it's still an answer to the question which you asked. It sounds like your idea of a "proper critique" is people telling you everything is just fine and you should crack on as you are. Enjoy.

Those are as far as I am concerned are pretty lazy replies.

You seem a little uptight bud. You may find this site a little frustrating and maybe not for you and I'm using some of your replies to this thread to come to that conclusion.

Women don't reply for many reasons. Personally, I don't see it as rude, I've seen how many messages my fuck buddy gets, it would be impossible to reply to them all. I delete all my sent mail so have no idea what the lady has done with it, I'll either log onto a reply or I won't. I'd rather have an empy inbox than a load of no thanks messages. No one owes you anything on here.

Anyone can ask for a face photo even if they have none on display, its not against site rules and you don't have to conform. No one has any power on here and certainly cannot abuse it via written messages. Only you can allow yourself to fall foul of what you might think is an abuse of power.

You asked for profile advice and got some. Whether you agree with it or act on it is up to you but you ask on a public forum and people will reply. If you are experiencing a lot of no replies to messages then maybe rethink what you are doing and accept some of the advice to improve your profile.

Lastly, ignore everything I've said as my profile is hidden so what I have to say it invalid !

All the best

That's the forums for you, welcome!

What works for women won't necessarily work for men so advising you to do something whilst not doing it themselves doesn't mean a thing really. To be successful on here you need to find what works for you. Good luck.

Apologies, when I looked before they were friend only pics, now I see there are some visible. I like the text (wouldn't kill you to take out the extra "f" in professional though, would it? It's been pointed out already, and is in the first sentence. *You* might think it's pedantic, but with the choice women have on here, where's the logic in leaving something that could be off putting?), and you've been upfront about your accommodating issues. I don't think you have to apologise at all for being hairy; like everything else, some will like it and some won't, but at least now women can actually *see* something to start to make an informed decision about. Interesting you don't like arrogance....how is your status *not* arrogant?? This is a difficult site for men, you are massively outnumbered, and it will only work for those who are patient, keep a good attitude, and are lucky in stumbling upon someone who's looking for what you're looking for. That's the reality of fab for single guys. Take it or leave it really I'm afraid!

Thank you pippin.

I fear that predictive text has a lot to answer for these days as well as failing to proof read .

I missed a question mark off my status so fair point.

I change it all the time to see if I stir a response.

Also I am very respectful of the fact that women get huge amounts of messages so I generally choose carefully and keep it polite.

Often I ask to be winked so that I know I am OK to message.

It's about respect to me which is why It annoys when a simple "not for me" or "no thanks" would suffice.

I'm guilty of not opening messages to be honest. There are just so many. As I stated on another thread, we are here to have fun. If I was to reply to every man that messaged me, even if it was just a ' no thank you' it would leave me no time to message the ones I do chat to regularly, or come on the forums. I understand that it's frustrating for a guy not to get a response, but I come on here for escapism, there would be no pleasure for me if it was just about letting people down. We females honestly do get a lot of messages. X

The respect thing I'm about to flip on its head - a reason why some women don't reply is because of the personal abuse some guys send in response to a no thanks so they are the ones that are being disrespectful. As a result of this, women are loathed to reply for fear of abuse so simply choose not to. It has nothing to do with lack of manners or respect.

I see your point.

I know you get a lot of abusive messages, however when I have sent a perfectly respectful and sincere message and I see it has been read, apart from time constraints I see no reason not to receive a polite reply.

I don't get any messages because of my filters, I choose to do the searching myslef when looking for a meet because I got fed up with guys constantly pestering me even after a polite no thanks, abuse as described earlier and guys who have an over inflated sense of entitlement. Your message may be polite and respectful but if you're not what they're looking for or your profile doesn't appeal then they won't necessarily send a reply. The quicker you accept this, the better your experience of this site will be. The FAQ's advice a no reply is a no thanks, deal with that or forever be frustrated with this site.
