"I went on a local day course, where we took lots of subjects, including a model. Rather than the standard shots everyone else was taking, I used a longer lens and took different shots, close ups, different angles etc. The results were good enough to show that I could do it. So I bought a couple of soft boxes, stands, a backdrop and some remote flashes (Yongnuo 565), then I practiced on as many different objects, flowers, a toilet roll, family portraits etc, until I had a good understanding of what worked. I then arranged an exhibition of my work, I stood there for two days while people gawped at my prints. I offered to take portraits there and then, ordering prints for £5 a shot. By this time, I had a portfolio. There wasn't any adult content, but it proved that I was a competent photographer. A female friend saw my shots and I offered to take some of her. Then I left the offer open. We eventually discussed what she wanted and came to an agreement. We divided the content into three sections. Portrait and glamour, where we would both have equal rights over the shots. Sexy, where she would have the rights, on the understanding that I could have use with her consent. X-rated, where she would have the rights, but I would be able to request consent in special cases. I handed over a USB stick with all the RAW files that were taken. The edits were supplied in Tiff, jpg and small jpg formats. I also did them all with a blurred face and all with a copyright notice. She paid me £80. I did offer for her to keep the SD cards and watch me edit them, but she trusted me to take them away. Other than the agreed shots, I have no copies. Since then, I have used the agreed shots as part of my portfolio. This has led me to three more shoots, and a few possibles. I have twice asked her for shots to show prospective clients and we have agreed their use. One Fabber has seen them. The quality of my shots has also led me to taking my own Daughters' wedding, now that is when you get nervous Happy to help in any way I can, or take shots for anybody!" Me and the Mrs got pissed, she flung off her drawers and I got the old Instamatic out, fired off some gloomy pics (several of my thumb), sent them off to Razzle Readers' Wives, they put a black stripe over her eyes, called her Rita from Staines and captioned them "Fanny By Gaslight". Bosh, £250! I don't like to boast too much about my status as a professional tog, but y'know, guess which of us has made more cash at this game... ;-)

"I really want to get into adult Photography. I do photography as a hobby, usually I shoot at car events, my photos have been in well known car magazines and online blogs. How on earth do I get into this kind of thing? I was thinking on here would be a good start, but do I just message people asking? Or just ask through the forums? " Have a look on Groupon for photography courses.. I'm sure photographing people is a whole different technique to taking pics of cars

" I started doing photos whilst shooting film & the two merged over a few years, shooting adult pics is totally different to the norm but I'm glad i do it. The trick is to make the women/man/couple relaxed enough to get as near to natural as you can get, being confident in what you do gives them confidence too. Having a good sense of humour helps too cause if you can make a person smile/laugh they are relaxed enough to do adult shoots. Try Fetlife & AW & look for local people near to you that you think need photos, if a person's got a polished portfolio i tend to leave them until they ask me as obviously they don't need pics at that time. There are lots of people here on Fab that want pics but again i let them come to me otherwise they may think you want sex rather than simply want to shoot them. Shooting adult material will sometimes get you in naughty predicaments but i always make excuses & do this after the shoot if i choose or arrange another day as you can't mix the two. Its a pity you wasn't nearer to Essex as you could have come along to some shoots to learn the etiquette with adult style photography. Yes try Fetlife & AW as a start mate & i hope it works out well for you.

"Most offer to take pictures when really it's just a way to get into your knickers a selfie stick and a Samsung phone work for me good luck though OP " i'm pretty fussy, so I really doubt that I would be expecting anything more than taking photos. Sorry you have seem to of judged me on this. pretty sure buying an escort is cheaper option than using thousands of pounds of camera equipment.

"Think about what type of adult photos you want to take. Arty or porno style? Fetish or standard? Look into the area you want to work in specifically. Doing a photography course is just a qualification, but experience counts more. Invest in a decent camera, start looking into taking pics...I'm sure there are couples, women and men on here who would offer their time in exchange for photos. Another thing to look into is disclaimers...diffrent countries have different laws and regulations for these. Most photographers i know use the U.S ones as they have older limits than the U.K. If you intend to make a profit on them also need to look into those laws and keep strict books. Feel free to inbox me for advice. I have done some work in the past with selling photos in the U.S " Hey thanks for the help. I already have the equipement. some weddings photos I have done was entered in local newspaper competitions, my automtive photos have been used for features, max power, performance bmw magazine. I know what i'm doing with a camera, I know what im doing with lighting, just wanted to try something different. I have a nikon D800, a D7000, 35mm 1.4 prime, 17-70mm 2.8, 10-20mm 3.5 50mm prime 1.4, 70-300mm 3.5, I have sb700 strob units, wireless triggers, so im not talking about an argos camera or a phone, as some judgmental people have spoken about here.

" I don't think anyone was being judgemental, just pointing out that in this day and age everyone can be "a professional". Once upon a time, to be a "film maker", you'd need expensive cameras, lighting, a studio, teams of technicians, a chair with "Director" across the back, a costume dept and a script. It was something "ordinary" people didn't just do. Then came people like Ben Dover with a couple of hundred quid camcorders and killed old-school impressarios stone dead. It doesn't matter what kit you have, it's what you can do with it. The real professional "glamour" photographers I have met have been, frankly, so incredibly boring to talk to, they made me want to chew my own leg off to get away. But then that's part of their appeal, they don't look like they are harbouring a secret hard-on so don't threaten and therefore bring out the best in nervous women. I know they bang on about the Good Old Days of putting vaseline on lenses and spending hours in darkrooms, but as much as they hate to admit it, being able to whizz through Photoshop is more helpful these days. So anyway, what are you actually looking for? Someone who will let you photograph them sticking things up their bum, or a way into "The Business"? Stick an ad in Exchange & Mart (or whatever people use these days. Gumtree?) if it's the former, there's always someone looking for some cash who will be prepared to let you try some arty (ie. Filthy) ideas out. Get your wallet out and you can be out this afternoon, making that set of pics you have in your mind's eye a reality. If it's the latter, a bit of brown-nosing with one of the industry big names (their websites are easy to find) might be an in-road, but will probably involve a lot of tea-making, floor sweeping and being treated as a skivvy for ages until you get your foot in the door. After all, who is going to advise you on how to possibly do them out of a job? At the end of the day, what was the last piece of adult photography that made you think "Hmmm, nice use of shadow, and interesting perspective there", rather than "Jesus, look at those tits, what I wouldn't do to get my face between a pair like that..."? That, my friend, is the path to enlightenment when it comes to people letting you take pics of them doing rude things...
