Hi was wondering why it takes so long to approve pics,i have only been on site for just over a week but each pic takes frim 5 to 15 minutes to get approved,is this normal

Yes.

It depends if anyone is online to approve them. It depends how many people have sent in pics for approval.

It can take much longer - 5 to 15 mins is pretty reasonable I think.

Mine have been taking a little longer than I remember it being on my old profile. Maybe the photo mods have got busier

Was a woman tonite joined put a picture on , was approved only to be withdrawn later. Somebody reported it, probably like me used reverse image search and it was on several commercial sites

Just tried an experiment with mate of mine,both posted pics at the same time,his verified in 2 mins mine took 7 mins,definately something not right. Have i upset someone lol

Look at how many people are on fab, how many probably post new pics up every day. It's a lot for admin to deal with so I don't think 15 mins is unreasonable

It's often slower in the holiday season as more of the pic mods are away on hols. Plus often, late on a Saturday or Sunday evening, many of them are allowed out...

5 mins is good

First time I posted a foof pic it took an age to approve and then I was contacted by a mod asking if I wanted to change my profile type.

If you look at the new pic section you will see how many pics are being uploaded. And that is just the public pics, the friends and private aren't shown, neither are those that are rejected. So I would imagine it is a good few thousand that have to be checked every day.
