Single Guy in a Club - advice

I've never yet had the bottle to go to a club although I have always wanted to.

I'm a bit worried that at late 40s, 5ft 9", a bit 'stocky' and not packing a monster in my pants that I might find it intimidating and end up being a wall flower.

How have any of you club going guys in a similar position found things?

My advice would be to behave as you would in any other social situation, engage people in conversation, make the most of the opportunity of being shown around and introduced to people.

Don't expect to play, just expect to have a good social experience and anything else is a bonus.

Clubs are friendly places generally. Go to a social event or relax in sauna, chat and make friends m x

Talk to people!

Seriously, its really off-putting having guys follow you around never saying a word, talk to people and make friends.

Thanks for the advice so far everyone.

I find I can initially be a bit shy in social situations where I don't know anyone until I warm up, then I don't shut up!

Certainly wouldn't take to following couples/ladies around like a dog with his tongue hanging out. Got too much respect and self respect for that.

Now that does sound like a great idea. I totally get that.

Yes, really off putting having a guy sat in the jacuzzi with a hard-on and an intense stare that avoids eye contact. Speak!

Be realistic in your expectations and speak with women who are similar to yourself in body size, shape etc

Alternatively, ignore them and set your sights on a Claudia Schiffer lookalike

2 weeks after joining I got the balls to go to a club and I can't stay away now just treat it like a pub say hello to others sit greet others when they come in talk to the staff and you will be fine but as it's said don't go in thinking you get to play with in 10mins of been inside also don't 'creep' (follow others around) also don't opens doors if they are shut but iam sure you won't do that you will be fine and have fun. Good luck

if you a new to club try starting with a smaller club and ask the hosts to introduce you and show you around, inevitably this will lead to some small talk about where you from, where you have played, that sort of thing.

the rest is up to you.

good luck

Just relax OP! Yes, you are probably nervous which is only natural, I know I was! Contact the club with any questions you have, they will no doubt put you at ease. They will likely show you around on your first visit too so you can get a feel for the place.

After your first couple of visits or so, you'll just feel as though you're nipping into the pub and you'll wonder why you were nervous in the first place!

And don't worry too much about your own appearance and what you don't like about yourself - at least you're a nice and tall 5ft 9in and not a 5ft 5in short arse like me!!!!

Good luck!

As others have said chat to folks, (both if it is a couple) and staff. Sadly far to many guys lurk around the edges, not saying a word and probably wondering why they don't get anywhere.

Look on it as a social, anything else is a bonus. Hot tubs are great places to get chatting, but enjoy the facilities and have fun.

Always ask before joining in and you'll have fun I'm sure. xx
